ive got a 03 cummins and has anybody had to change out there lift pump with the conversion kit? My lift pump went out and the dealership told me that they have gone to this conversion kit. Was just seeing if anybody has had to install one of these kits yet. Any help will be a big help.

Read the stickies. This is the Dodge offroad tech forum. This thread would be much better served in tow rigs or one of the many dodge diesel related forums.

Recently put a Walbro 392 on my 2004 Dodge 3500. it is a complete kit and easy to install, allow yourself about 4-5 hours. Hardest part is plumbing all the lines ofcourse. I was getting about 4-6psi before on my stock lift put, now I am getting low to mid 20's. You can also check out www.dieseltruckresource.com.

Yep. If you just wanna wheel it get the walbro. Cheapest option or the Air Dog is a good kit. I have a fass w/filters and Ive been pleased but it was higher. More for guys makin big power.
Wow jeepin1023 that site is addictive you should warn the poor guy that diesel performance is more addictive than crack. Atleast to me it is.

I didnt want an in tank conversion, so I went with this kit BD Lift pump replacement (http://http://www.xtremediesel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=895)
"XDP TIP:
This is the pump you should go with if your stock pump has went bad. It is designed to bypass/eliminate the use of the stock pump on the motor. The way this pump works is it mounts on the frame rail w/ the supplied hardware and wiring harness that plugs directly into your factory harness. This kit mounts on the frame because it's easier for the pump to push fuel rather than pull it from the tank and the vibrations from the motor shorten the life of the pump when it's mounted on the engine. If your stock pump is still good and your just looking for a little added security you should look into the auxiliary pump."
Ive had mine in for for almost a year and had no issues at all. IF one of these craps out, you can get the walbro pump at a NAPA or equiv. and swap it out in less than 15 minutes. The conversion goes to an in tank, and from what I gathered, wasnt any better than the filter canister mounted pump.

Fass and airdog have there own draw straw if you want or you can run it thru the factory pump. I chose a new straw works great.
