: What axle to use when i straight axle my 95 Z71

I'v heard a number of different things. can i take a ford 5 lug dana 44 and put chevy 6 lug spindles on it???

If you want to save some trouble you could always go with a jeep wagonenner front 44 it is already 6 lug.

if you want to keep it 6 lug, 1/2 ton your best option is a 78-79 for high pinion dana 44 housing with chevy 6 lug knuckles out.

waggy axles are too narrow for a full width application.

jeep j10s also have 6 lug and wide enouph for fyll size

78-79 ford f-250 D44. They have 8 lugs but you should be able to swap chevy outers onto it or swap in a 8 lug rear and leave it. anyway the ford f250 axle uses leaf springs and is drivers side drop with the added bonus of being hi pinion.


not sure where your located but I happen to have such an axle for sale...
