Has anybody actually run 44" cut Boggers on 35-spline 1-ton axles? I'm wondering exactly how strong my axles are. :D I'm only interrested in responses if you have, or know someone who has, this combo.

Alot of my friends around this area run 1ton axles with cut 44in. boggers, all with v8's some stock, some built pretty good. Most run the boggers on the rear and tsl's in front. I don't think I've ever seen any of them break a 14bolt rear. I have seen d60 fronts break with 44in tsl's. Hope that helps some..

I broke my 14 bolt July 1st... Broken axle. 44" boggers aired down to 5psi. 454, fully manual automatic. Shortside shaft twisted off just past the flange. The only cuts in these tires are from rocks. I broke it climbing out of a river... LOTS of big rocks... Luckily the detroit held up...

my friend kev's heep, 1 exploded stub (hub went with it) and 2 very twisted (to the point of uselessness) 35 spline rear shafts with siped 39" tsl's. i think you can have carnage with any axle/tire combo with the wrong combo of throttle/binding/traction.;)

I have 44" boggers and a 60, 35 spline in and out, 14 bolt rear. I broke 30 spline outers pretty often but the 35 spline are holding up pretty well. I am pretty confident that they are going to last a while, too.

Nothin' hooks quite like a cut Bogger. I was helping to push this guy

http://gumbo4x4.com/MNT261.JPG

up into his trailer at an event & once in the trailer, I tried to pull my hand back, but the lugs had snagged my watch. Damn near rolled me right up into the trailer with it LOL. 'Course these are PROPERLY cut Boggers - not just taking out the little lugs, but reshaping the large ones & taking the carcass down to the cords for 1.5" tread depth :smokin: At any rate, 620" alcohol & nitrous fed machine with a SF60 rear :) It's been my experience that when running new components with tight clearances, stuff is a lot more durable than you'd imagine. If you're running a junkyard rearend with 20-year-old axles and worn out bearings, you can expect more breakage despite having "1-ton" stuff.

....what are you trying to say David??...anyways I run 35 spline dana 70 rears in both of my trucks.I run 44 inch cut boggers on the rear combined with a 4 speed /205 and a sbc with around 435-450hp(in my hybrid/s10) and I have broken one rear 35 spline shaft at the carrier and twisted the splines on both rear axles at the same time before on a different set of dana 70 rear axleshafts I had in the housing.I have broken several dana 60 front axleshafts(new shafts not old used ones) that were 35 spline inner and outer.Unfortunately, the joint breaks and takes out the ears on the axleshafts..Anyways if in doubt goto chrome moly rear axles..I am:D ..here is a pic of my toys so you see what they are on..Good luck.
