: Final Drive Ratios - how to calculate?

Someone on eBay asked me what the final drive ratio for the CrewCab is. Problem is, I don't know, and I don't know how to figure it out.

Here's what I do know:

Chev 350 (does that matter? I have a hunch it doesn't)
Advance Adapters Ranger Overdrive (don't know ratio when engaged)
SM-465 (don't know any ratios)
LT-230 (don't know ratios...stock gearing, came out of a Disco I think)
Diffs = 3:54

Is there a calculator somewhere? I can do some digging and find out the ratios of the stuff I know nothing about.

Thanks guys.

Stock Disco LT230 - 1.22 high range
AA Ranger 27% overdrive

You know the diffs

3.54 X 1.22
_________

1.27

= 3.4

Usually final drive ratio means diff gear ratio, but you can wow him with all this pertinent info :flipoff2:

Cool. So that means the final drive ratio is 3.4? I'm not sure what that means. I think that several of the bidders asking questions are actually either members here on Pirate or Dweb or other places. I recognize a few ebay names as screen names elsewhere.

Thanks man.

77 to 1

Based on the calculator . . . .

if someone is asking final drive ratio i would assume they are refering to the highest ratio available while freeway driving etc.
With yours you are looking at 1.0 trans X .73 ranger X 1.22 tcase X 3.54diff= 3.15:1

I'm not positive on the ranger ratio but that should be close.

Edit: 77 to 1 is the "crawl" ratio which is I assume what they wanted.

Final drive would be what roverhybrids said.

Actually, I believe "final drive ratio" normally refers to the differential only, so 3.54
