somebody was asking about a good price on trailers in the bay area. Reed's in Petaluma has a 2 axle car hauler with electric brakes on special for 1400. Sounds like a great deal, I am gonna check it out tomorrow.

I called and talked to Chuck...The trailers on special are 16' beavertails...14' deck with 2' tail. 7000lbs gvw, electric brakes on one axle and will be available after wed. Oct. 7th 2001. He gave me the price of 1499.00 + tax. However you can do what I am doing and order a striaght deck with any available color choice...same price. Takes about 2-3 weeks to deliver.

Remember to be dot legal at 7k you need brakes on both axles, at least in Az and I would assume Ca. Brakes on one axle good to 5999, sorta weird but that's what I found out...got mine all outfitted out the door with a spare for $2k plus tags...AzTec trailer, not bad and pulls good....

I will have to talk to Chuck I talked to someone else and it was that trailer only, if I wanted true 16 ft it was gonna cost more. Thanks for posting.

If interested the # for Reed's Trailers is 707-792-9100. I can't remember if he said wood or metal..I think wood. I don't really care so I did not ask.

reed's are wood, but the deck is only 14' and costs more than the place in concord. to add brakes to both axles is like $300 or so at pretty much any place, but the brakes are like $80 per wheel and apparently they're not that hard to install.

its also probibly worth it to get the wider one, i'm on yota axels with 15x10's w/3" back spacing and my rig barely fits between the fenders, but if i go full width i'm just gonna fab up somthing so i can go over the fenders and extend the platform width
