i tried looking this up but no luck yet. i have a 93 explorer i want to put hydro assist on. anyone tapped holes for this style steering pump? could you post pics of where to tap? it only sees offroad use so do i need to keep the pitman arm or can i just remove the upper link? thanks

yes, 4x4junkie is correct. They do have the same box. I have assist on my 88 BII, I can get you pics when I get home tomorrow if it would help

yes u need to keep the upper link, it wouldn't be hydro assist without it.:shaking: i'm sure u can't use the stock box as the valve setup if u want full hydro assist.

Do you want it full Hydro or Hydro assist...??? What exactly are you trying to ask here...??
Hydro assist only assists the current steering setup. Full hydro replaces it.
Try the Search button.

yeah i know its only assist but i dont have the money for an orbital or full hydro but i figured the ram would be doing most of the work anyways. im trying to move my springs forward another 7-8 inches and i cant do it with the pitman arm the way it is so i figured id ask if it was necessary with the ram in place. i need my wheel base around 110 and the only other option is to move the steering box forward or do something with hydro. thats why i asked
