just wondering if there is any other makes or model trucks that have the same length leaf springs as the front springs on a k5 blazer. im building a SFA s10 and the suspention is pretty much done. the problem is its to tall (never thought id say that) it has 4inch superlift k5 blazer springs up front right now which are also stiff as hell. i was thinking of looking for a set of stock k5 springs or is there any other options i might want to look into?

73-87 GM trucks all used the same front spring LENGTH.
there are springs with as little as 2 inches of lift.
oh... you can use springs from a 70s Jeep J10 or 70s wagoneer front in conjunction with your front main leaf and get some NICELY flexible front springs. waggy stuff flexes nice.

i was hoping for something more common. i never see any wagoneers in the junkyard anymore. was hoping for like the rear springs of a ram will work or something.
i was thinking of a 2inch spring also that why i was thinking of maybe a rear leaf spring, cause those stock k5 springs are all reversed arched. and i figure the lower the better im only running 33s and its at the perfect height to be a street queen where the tires wont hit at all, id rather lower it and chop the fenders off.

Ok I'm not very up to speed on building spring packs but I thought you could remove a few of the shorter leafs to ease up lift and soften up the spring? Kinda like an anti AAL.

i was thinking about that half way through the build. spring shop only wants like 40 bucks to do that to both leafs. but im only gonna loose like 1 -1 1/2 inches of height, i would like to knock off at least 3 inches. or maybe i should just get bigger tires :flipoff2:

I think he's talking about removing the leaves yourself, a spring shop wouldnt need do that...just unbolt the pack.

Im no expert, but I'd start removing leafs until you get the right height and flexibility. Its free. I would think that an s-10 is no where near heavy enough to make the stock K-5 spring compress.
