: Another 700R4 question?

Is there any differences between the innards (or outards) of a unit that came behind a 60* V6 (2.8L) and the 90* version found in S10s? I know some of the older S10 housing have a cast in tailhousing, the unit I am looking at is not one of those but it is a 2wd model.

I have searched and have come to the conclusion that I can mate a 203 to a regular 700R4 using a TH350/203 adapter and an AA shortshaft, or use a 700R4/208 adapter and drill the 203 to accept it (may not work but sounds damn cheap so I will try it) .

More info if you need it, I have a 2.5L TJ swapping an AX-5 out in favor of the 700R4, the 60*chevy pattern matches the AMC block. Then I want a 203 doubler. I am not as concerned with starter and CPS right now I will figure that out befor I pay for any more then the 700R4 core ($50).

I think the V6 has less cluches or somthing like that
