im starting to build new bender and i was wondering rotary dirrection.

my pro tools is clockwise and i have always felt its made for left handed after i made it to hydraulics.
i have to stand in degree pointer side to see pointer and when i have long tube and im alone bending its sometimes realy pain in the ass to load tube to die.

have anyone else noticed this.

and how much torgue it takes to bend 2"x1/2 wall tube in 5" radius die:p

check the bandit's bad ass bender thread, I think he has some calculations on how much force it takes to bend various size(s) of tube.

thanks

i made some test bends in my protools hydraulic and installed pressure gauge

tube 1.9"x0.2" die 6"
starting from 0 degrees pressure was ~180 bar
90* bending pressure was ~100bars

i calculated torgue from 90* and got 8000nm(5900lbs/ft):eek:

for bend direction... it looks like you can just flip the bender upside down, I think it'll still bend fine and everything work, just backwards? I don't see anything that would require the orientation it's in...????
