I've had good luck with the MotorGuard "toilet paper roll" type dryers. I have it hooked up behind a drip type dryer right on the plasma cart.

Same here.

Make sure you have enough pipe to cool the air before it goes to the drip dryer / large particle remover... then on your plasma cart put the motoguard. You don't want the motorguard right after the tank or within really 5ft of the line as it will get soaked FAST.

Build a liquid cooled Franzinator :flipoff2:

I'm building two of them right now to run parallel. Have an old chest freezer that goes to 0 degrees. Antifreeze/water in separate container in the freezer using a Parts Washer pump to distribute the liquid to the Franzies. Should work pretty well.

Probably too much work for just a plasma though.

If I was going to spend that much time I'd drop $275 for the HF dryer and call it good. Time is money.

Sheeeeettt!! ~ $60.00 and 4 hours. :flipoff2:

The HF dryers that I have seen were borderline rated for my compressor anyhow. Unless they have a larger model I haven't seen yet.

That's more than the cost of the dryer :flipoff2:

Just because your compressor can do more than 22cfm doesn't mean that the plasma will draw that much :flipoff2:

@ $15.00 per hour

I like to keep my tank dry also. Mine will be plumbed between the compressor and the tank. ;) Then with a Motorguard after the tank.

Used the Motorgard filter setup but just didn't feel it was working in my situation - so just picked up a 25cfm Hankison air dryer. Have to get it installed and let you know how it works.
