Not Really, other than they are for sale on ebaymotors and that they carry a 1 year warranty. I was thinking about going that direction for the 330 clams instead of fronting 570 for a be cool. Anybody else have any thing to say about them?

330? Good greif, I have been running Howe and Afco aluminum units in my rigs for years. I've never spent more than $140 yet. And that's for big ones keeping a Chrysler 440 cool. Open up aSpeedway catalog, they're in there for about $140 as well.

Thinking back, I probably should have mentioned I was spouting off about CJ's.

My apologies! I forgot about the change in radiators when jeep went wrangler. Afco did quote me 590 on Friday for a CJ Alum. Plumbed for Chevy and Howe quoted me 625 some time back.

twistedmetal, were you referring just to the YJ's and TJ's? Or, do you have a part # or something I could use to refer them for CJ as well? 140 is a steal.

It still might be worth checking that link I posted. I was quoting his CJ price, Wrangler could be down in the 100 range as well!

I too am interested in this topic. I'm looking for a radiator to put in my 454 Wrangler project. I've found them locally for 180 up, but that's not for an exact fit, ready to bolt in unit. It's a Chevy radiator set up but I have to weld on mounting tabs. So if I use one and weld brackets on it, there isn't a warranty any more because I welded to it. Catch 22 bull I guess, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Is it worth the high dollars for a direct fit?? I'm still undecided. Looking still. Thanks for putting me onto this thread Z. 48 Stude

One more thing. I bought from AFCO now RPM, a few years ago. They made a radiator for my 48 Studebaker M-16, Good quality and quick response at $485

I quess I'll flame all ya'll. Take some measurments. Compare. The cheap jobs that everyone refers to are not exactly bolt in but if you are running a Chevy motor in a jeep then those well work with coaxing. I am still undecided on my conversion rad. as of yet but was leaning towards a drop unit with a brass core. But I considered those others after looking at the price. Or just cut and drop in a non-drop in.

Stop buying built-to-fit radiators and learn to fab a bit! THAT'S why shit costs so much! Just find one that fits in your dimensions, or alter your dimensions to fit a larger radiater, and get one with the hose inlets/outlets on the correct sides. Hell, I tubed the entire front half of my rig just to fit bigger, off-the-shelf aluminum radiators into my rigs. Good luck, just think it through, and you'll be much happier with the results.

Mine is a 91 Wrangler and the biggest you can fit, fabricating your own mounts (WITHOUT CUTTING INTO THE HEADLIGHT BUCKETS) is 26x19 and that's with 4" of body lift and 1/2 clearance of the power steering line at the bottom of the radiator. Close fit, too close probably. That's what I'm leaning toward. A local shop will get honors for welding. I hope the cost matches the workmanship. Now I'm looking around for the best quality of radiator and a good price as well. Where would that be??

I do have to agree with you about measuring and finding an off the shelf alum. Summit and jegs have a line of alum.'s that are pretty cheap. Might find one for a wrangler plummed for a chevy or close. Measure the core and the full dimensions and call 'em.

Hey twisted, thanks for the shot. Learn to fab a bit? Thats what this forum is about right?

As for Fab a bit. I drive an 81 CJ-7 Spung to 8.5 on 74 IH 44's with 4:56's backin Detroit Electrac's Pushed by a 350 from a 90 Blazer (custom wired to the dash idnicators I might add) TBI with 700R4 Tranny mated to a Dana 300 with custom Pitman arms, Brackets and Driveshafts. And it's a daily driver. :flipoff2: Whats in your wallet?

$169 on ebay, 2 dudes sell the same ones same price, all sizes and inlet styles,2 1in tubes, all welded, bligity bling, and making mounting brackets took no effort.

this one is a 19x22 and a Taurus/Lincoln electric fan fits like it was made for it. only problem was the lower outlet is at an angle but i used a stainless steel radiator hose and had no problem fitting it. minor annoyance for a great price for a welded radiator ( no epoxy like a bunch out there)

I just called Ron Davis about building a custom radiator for my rock buggy. Because I am leaning the radiator back so far, and cooling such a beast of an engine without a huge radiator we had to do some special things to accomodate that (angled ports, and double pass). I actually got to talk to Ron himself, who was awesome to deal with; very helpful and informative. No a radiator that has a lot of little custom details with it is not *CHEAP* but they are giving me a great deal on , IMO ,what is the highest quality radiator out there.

If looking for a sick radiator check outRon Davis (http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Welcome.htm) .

I forget, when they say "Chevy" where are the in / outs?

I know that "Ford" are top pass, bottom driver, which is compatible with some jeeps...
