: buggy drive train?
thedownlow 03-06-2008, 05:38 PM what kind of engine setup is there in the none vw rear engine buggies? for instance an sbc, auto or manual. I have never seen one up close enough to see what is used.
pics would be awsome
I dont have serious plans on building one but I do have an extra 350, and I'm in the process of building a tube bender. besides who doesn't want a v8 buggy laying around.

nevadayj 03-06-2008, 06:02 PM Mine has a LS1 and a Mendeola S4S trans hooked to gun-drilled axles and 934CV's. If you have an iron 350, it will most likely be too heavy to be great. If you use your engine, you'll only need another $10-15K in parts to finish up the rear section:D

Krusty 03-06-2008, 06:30 PM (Bender) Putting a pre runner together for a customer right now... I'm not shure of the chassis MFG, but it's beautiful.. LS, Albins trans,4 seat, kings...blah blah blahh
Got to haul ass, cause his new Porter race chassis will hit the shop soon:eek:
PS I'm NOT bitching about being busy, I'm just running LOW on time:)
thedownlow 03-06-2008, 06:41 PM ah haaaa!!!!
it is like a light shining down on me from the heavans and a beautiful choir in the background and it is all so clear now
thank you so much
I didnt even know know anyone made a heavy duty transaxle other than porsche, but I don't see spending that kind of money to go tooling around the woods.
mobil1syn 03-06-2008, 06:41 PM damn Krusty, i didnt know you guys were that slammed.
as long as youre having fun
Tin Bender 03-06-2008, 06:52 PM busy is good:)
(GET BACK TO WORK OLD MAN!!)
Damn old people wanting water breaks!!..lol
I wouldn't use "Albins" for a buget build.. They are out of Ballarat Victoria Australia =$$ This one is only a 5 speed.. But the race car will run a Seqential 6 speed=$$$$$$$..
thedownlow 03-06-2008, 06:57 PM $15k huh
is that all? I'll just build 7, one for each day of the week the kids I may have in the future don't need to eat.
any rich ladies looking for a guy to spend all their money, cuz I'm your man

This F150 will be cool once we get the supercharger and front tube work and suspension done... Prerunner Fusion Chassis in the back ground.. Linked, 100" WB sammy project, DoC's KOH/XRRA car (can't show)and the 4 Seater Prerunner in the shop now... Rally car come'n in the morning..
It's not that we are "slammed" it's just that I don't want people to wait and wait and wait for their junk to be done..
