Been building this up for a while.
started out with an ex shooting estate 110 csw v8

took the excess bodywork off and put on a truck cab and short utility rear bulkhead

cut back the chassis to the rear spring mounts and tack welded in a trimmed down series 3 crossmember

Fitted up the rear roll hoop and a tubular tray frame

I looks good so far. My only advise is to not attach the bed hoop to the back of the cab. That way if the bed takes a hard hit, your doors will still stay closed.

yeah I take your point, I'll have a look at that, maybe I should brace it off the side of the rear roll hoop.
been gathering the suspension parts together, and getting the axles fitted up, I scored a pair of disc braked Salisbury axles, fitted an ARB locker to the rear, (saving for one for the front :D ) Im going with a hybrid set up, OME +2 90 spec springs all round, Xeng flex kit on the rear, QT ultralite radius arms, blue polybushes all round and scorpion extreme nitrogen charged long travel shocks and mounts.
Ive cut off the Boge strut and its old crossmember and made up a 4x4 box member to remount the A frame.
more pics when I get back to the workshop :smokin:

Many of us on this side of the Atlantic have gone back to stock bushings. My personal experience with polybushings has not been positive.

Holy (wholly Hole-y?) frame rust batman.
Ive cut most of the holey bits off, down side of living in the Highlands of Scotland Landrovers dont like wet conditions
Had to do a fair amount of plating to the chassis, when its all done it'll get rust coated, and painted, should last a few years then I'll re-chassis

why not get it fully fixed and send it off to be galvanized? How about sticking those 4 white fender flares in a box and posting them to the US?

keeping the drivetrain relatively standard at the moment, for reliability and ease of getting parts. Its a 3.5 ltre carb fed V8 running thru a LT77 box and standard box, the back Salisbury axle runs a 3.54 diff and has been converted to disc brakes, the front axle will be a disc braked 3.54 diffed Salisbury from a 127 Rapier gun tractor
once ive got it all sorted I will be on the lookout for a later 4.6 efi motor, and will save up for an underdrive
the main mods are in the suspension department, I have gathered all the kit together now, just need a free weekend and a slot on my friends two post lift :)
