What brand / company is recommended as alternative for the piston rings if one does not like to order the $$$ pistonrings from LR ?

Thanks,

Would they still be the best value for 3.9 rings?
Not new pistons or liners, just deglazing and new rings (and cleaning of course).

I'd be surprised if you can even get piston rings through Land Rover, I've never checked though.

x2 for Aluminumv8.com

Hastings part number 2C4998 (4.0, 4.6)

I bought mine from a local speed/machine shop for about $80 plus freight.

Cool, thanks. Looks like the right size, and the price is certainly good.

Mark will take good care of you. He has stuff in stock at acceptable prices and can be of great help if you should need it.

That's what I got them for locally in Colorado- close to cost.

Mark has them listed for $140 last year. Not bad considering what LRNA wanted for them. Maybe he has come down in price since last year.

He's not always the least expensive, but he is the most helpful. For some reason, he and I don't argue as much these days-LOL.

PN 2M4930 4930
Compression rings - 16 - 1.5mm
Oil rings - 8 - 3.0mm
1996-On 4000cc Eng. Land Rover V-8 50-D 4.0 Litre 94.00mm 3.701
PN 2C4998
Compression Rings - 8 - 1.2mm; 8 - 1.5mm
