im in the same boat.. buggy should be running this week. just got the tires mounted so all i need is hydro lines, driveshafts, and brakelines. i better get this thing done cause i prepaid like half a year ago :shaking: which i dont know why. anyways i just hope we dont have a turnout like last icebreakers. camp 6 sucks. i dont know why everyone acts like its all great. very boring. anyone remember the guy who was dogging there XJ outta camp and they're tire fell off. ahh man i felt bad for that guy, but had to laugh. then he just throws it in reverse and dogs it backwards to his campsite with no tire. that shit was great!

oh my god i remember that. we fawkin welded the third in and packed the whole axle full of grease. even crazier is that is worked for the rest of that weekend. i wishi had a picture of that thing from when we cut it out of the housing. it looked like a toyota third member went into a crushing machine

Its not really like that in the mourning you get in line to run. and you end up running between 3-7 different trails depending on the size of your group and how fast everyone can cover the trail. Great place to wheel worth the trip one time you will be hooked.

Yeah, it's more of a pre-planning thing even choosing a trail in advance, so John Hunt can arrange enough trail guides. But each morning, you get the chance to line up where you want.

I just signed up and can't get out there until Sat. morning. How important is it to get there by 9am? I am in Richmond and plan on leaving around 6ish. This will be my first trip to Big Dogs and can't wait. Any advise about camping, hotel etc.

Tons of camping available there. Hotels are within 15-20 minutes. I;d try and get there by 9am to get in a group but that all really depends on if your trailering or just driving in. And how much everyone had to drink the night before.:D You would still have to stop by the camp check in and get squared away with Boone and Willis to get your camp spot first and get checked in with Big Dogs staff too. Email John Hunt or give him a call and let him know you'll be running late and your a first timer. He'll take care of you. Just like he took care of me when I went down there the first time.

Hell I started the thread and now I might have to ride shot gun. Guy sold the running,driving truck I was going to buy so I bought a turbo runner yesterday with bad motor now I have three weeks to swap motors and do sas.

Still made it up to camp that fawking rain sucked last night, it rains everytime i have been up there. To the guys up the hill from us in camp six that burned the tree chained to the other tree "classic".

Had a good time, nice to meet some of you all, rain sucked ass, full sized trucks don't belong on some of those trails (especially extended cab, long beds, IFS and no lockers), showers were wonderful.

Total damage, (1) trashed masterpull synthetic winch line, (1) trashed optima red top, (1) soaked interior that smells of wet dog; great time.

That's all I got. Later on Pennsyltuckian I was crusing along just fine until the front end dropped off a huge ledge, landing a 4-foot drop right on the front right corner of my bumper. Not only did this really hurt, it jacked up the frame on that side, which pushed the radiator back into the fan and put a big hole in it. I managed to get off the trail and limp back to camp, but now I've gotta figure out something to do about that side. :(

That cherokee belonged to some local kid, he followed us around for a bit on sat evening. Said he just bought it for 2 G's. He also said that the guy he bought it from told him it had some major issues, but the kid said he fixed it for about 20 bucks and an hour of labor....... guess he should of invested an extra 10 bucks on some solder and shrink wrap....:shaking:
