Anyone have knowledge of these? I've got one of my dad's old ones today for safe keeping, along with a few others I'll post later (maybe). Picked up a sweet M1, two M1 Carbines, and a good ole HEAVY Tommy Thompson, straight clip, no drum.

pics.. sorry they are crappy.

link.. no good at posting pics.

The numbers on the luger are going to decide what it's worth. As well as the accessories you have too.

the tommy would price change a LOT depending on year and if it was "fun switch" (and legal fun switch)

The Tommy is in a case which is at home, didnt even look at it. How would that be legal IF it did?

I know one of the Carbines USE to have a fun switch, but not any more. He had one in a case, and this particular one he used for hunting on horseback so the fun switch was removed. Too bad....

Check the marking you have on the luger with all the information at that site to figure out what you have got.

one of our full auto junkies will post in I hope. I forget the exact legalities with old full auto weapons.
were these war bring backs? what is the history on any of them? Accessories with the weapons?
The more photos the better can be evaluated of value.
I know that artillery luger can bring 1k STARTING price and depending on serial number, stampings and accessories it goes up QUICK.

Am I being an idoit for asking these ?s on the net?

I wouldnt even think about restoring them and honesly they dont need to, i dont think. Yes and no on the ''war bring backs,'' as he served in WWII. No real accessories to speak of other than holster, and shoulder straps that I know of.

thanks.

.

not necessarily. for any "questionable" items I would start a new thread asking about some guns your "buddy" owns :flipoff2:

DWM Luger, I think the 18 means 1918.

Better pics of the whole pistol including barrel length.

If the Thompson is full auto, I hope your dad has it registered and he should have a copy somewhere.

That luger can be worth ALOT if you can find info on it.

My grandfather helped a friends wife sell off his gun collection after he passed away. One of his lugers went for over 30K because of it's documented history. Take some time to figure it out. There were severial that they coulden't find any info on. Best they could figure the guns were made durring war time and no one over there cared to document the serial numbers.

If it is infact full auto (probably not), and you don't know whether or not it is registered...you can contact the NFA branch of the batfe and find out. The only thing is, if it's not registered...you could be screwed, and if it is...but was never transferred to your dad then you could be screwed. Hopefully either it is a registered MG, or he registered it during the amnesty. If so, it's worth a good amount.
