Ok, time to smog this beast which means I need that light ;)

I condensed the wiring to

this (http://www.rivercityrockcrawlers.com/TechReports/MoPower/wiring/wiring.htm)

# Color Green Connector at EEC
657 t Check Engine Light

But the light doesn't work. I think I am missing something, does the light need to be powered and the wire is the ground? Or is it is a positive wire and the light needs to be grounded, or ???

thanks :)

Somewhat related, I get no codes from the factory harness so something is amiss..

See if this helps you any-

It's for a '89 460 but pins should be close to the same. Pin #17 is what you're looking at.

Have you tried looking in the back of a Haynes manual yet? They've got decent wiring diagrams.

This should clear it up a bit-

Here is my page is progress

CHeck the area about the Green plug, Pk/G wire. You don't need to tap into the harness for this, the wire is already waiting for you.

I know it is there, but the power thing I didn't know, looks like the light should always be powered but the ground is provided when it is on from that pic above

you don't need to tap into the harness FOR ANYTHING. Check out my link, I got where all of the wires go..

My truck RUNS, just no light

I have a question that is semi-related.. anyone know what the overall effects of simply not running your EGR valve.. does the computer start throwing up all kindsa codes and stuff if that thing is unplugged?

Any way to bypass that action?

EGR injects already burned gasses into the intake charge during mid-throttle operation. The inert gasses allow the motor to bump up the timing (less chance of preignition). They also effectively decrease the combustion chamber size, saving gas at cruising speed.

If you have an early '80s carbed truck, I know it doesn't run for crap with an EGR or a feedback carb. But if you're running an EFI, keep the damn EGR. All it does is save some fuel, which reduces emissions and keeps the air cleaner for all of us on the east coast.

Blocking it off might not bother the computer (so long as it can see the EGR solenoid, it's happy), but it can cause detonation at mid-throttle and can throw off the A/F mix at cruise due to the increase in combustion chamber size.

haha

dude get a clue..

Your colors are different and he DID buy a factory diagram which is how he made the web page if you looked at it. Your attempt to answer had nothing to do with the question. His engine is wired AND runs, just haven't got the check engine light..

I just wired an EFI engine from a Tracker in my Zuke and had the same problem. The wire from the ECU does provide the ground for the light, at least my ECU does.:D

Mr. N, from your web site and pic, I believe that the following:

H To fog lisgts White Plug with wires Pink/Orange and Purple/Green
I To fog lisgts White Plug with wires Pink/White and Purple/Blue

are actually the air bag sensor connectors. Unless you removed the wiring harness yourself and can verify thier exact function, I would say they are air bag, rather than fog lights. I've never taken apart a 1992 wiring harness, but on the other harnesses I've cut up, the white conenctors near the MAF (on the pass side strut tower) have always been he air bag connections.

The 1990-1993 Mustangs have three air bag sensors in the front header panel. One behind each headlight, and one in the center of the radiator support, near the hood latch. The fog light and head light connections usually come from the body harness on the driver's side (where Q Brown Plug connects).

EDIT: I'm pretty sure A goes to the dome light inside a Mustang (believe it or not), B crosses over to the Mustang gauge cluster. I can check later in my Mustang if you wanted.

So, everytime you hit something with the front bumper, the fog lights come on? I'd say that's good :D Thump, lights come on- "Oh, so that's what I hit!"

I wired my light to acc and the other lead is going to the brown wire on the green plug, diagram says T for tan but that was the closest thing, but the light doesn't come on :(
