Does anyone else have or even bother with a hitch cover or do you just leave the ball mount in? I trade mine out, here is the pic:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I have to take mine out 'cause I have a tractor parked sideways in the back of my garage & the hitch will hit on the brush hog if I don't remove it. The reg-cab truck I had before would fit w/o removing the ball, so I rarely took it out. I don't have a cover for the hitch though when it's empty. One of my club members got a warning for the ball mount that was in the truck when he bought it, so he pulled the pin and the plug wouldn't come out, so we tried to remove it, and we tried, and we tried, we hooked that thing to a 6'x6'x6' concrete cube and jerked the begeezes out of it, moved the block, didn't budge the hitch plug. We heated it up with a torch, and hooked it to a broke down dozer, still, no budge. Drove around with it like that for another year, pulled in the truck pull at the fair 2 years running with no pin in it, no problem, then he sold the truck, and the new owner had it drop out moving his boat in the yard. WTF! | |
