I have a set of 39.5/15/15 tsl's for my tacoma and i need to balance them and i have heard that they can be balanced with bb's inside the tire. Has anyone heard of this and how much do i use per tire. Thanks

Start with 16oz per tire, yup 1 lb per tire. See how that does and add from there. I have a feeling you'll end up with something around 18-20 ounces and have a tolerable vibe (they'll most likely never ride smooth).

if you go to a les schwab or a tire shop that deal with semi tires they have a powder that you can put in the tire. its called equial ( truck drivers put it in their steers when the cant get them balanced)

Where do you live? Is there alot of moisture? Being in Az it tends to be quite a bit dryer here than other places. Even so, if you drive the truck on a regular basis the bb's will pretty much self clean while tumbling around in a tire not allowing rust to become an issue. The airsofts work the same, but they are pricey by comparison and take a crap load to achieve the same balancing results. I just balanced my tires with a large container of bb's and it cost like a whopping $6.00. I was leary of using the bb's too, but my friends were getting such good results and haven't experienced the rusting so I followed suit.

BBs might also punkure the inside liner and cause the tires to seperate.

We used it on the fleet that I use to drive. Works great. The problem with it is if it gets any moisture in it, it clumps up.

dude i have been wheelin w/ steel BB's in my 38.5x11x15 boggers for 2 years now. they also have been flattened, beads popped, raced a season in the mud drags (and won :D )

i also drive this truck a ton on the street. its street manners will rival any older vehicle. it can sit for weeks, and by the time i get to the edge of the neighborhood, they roll pretty true. if i feel any vibes after i take off, i just stop and let them reset. stop too fast and you hear them hit the rims

CCCHHHIIIINNGGGGG!

take a brake clean cap full of bb's and throw them in there. forget about them from there on :grinpimp:

I used 12 oz of steel BB's with my 37" DIY beadlocked MTR's...works like a charm.

EDIT: And I live in Edmonds, Washington and daily drive it if that means anything to you.

On mine 39.5 TSL ,I took it to a place that fixes and sell big truck tires(dumptrucks and semi s) He had a balancer big enough to spin the tire and balance it. I got the tires good and hot with all the flat spots from sitting in the shop out of them first. When they spin them you can stand to the side and see how out of round they are its crazy.
