i have a 97 geo tracker with 83 toyota axles. i just ordered a rear disk brake kit from tangent off road and was wondering if i need any type of a proportioning valve and if so i was also wondering what exactly it does. I was looking at the one on low range offroad's site if i do need to buy one. thanks for any help

Your Geo will have a load sensing proportioning valve all ready fitted. It will be located under the rear close to the diff usually attached first by a arm of sorts then a large spring you will notice your brake lines gathering there. If that is the case just fit your disc,s and go the valve will do the rest, in some extreme cases you may need to adjust the spring to valve distances. Basically the valve spreads the hydraulic pressures to balance and minimise locking of the wheels.
