Cause this is the "Golden State" and the myth is everyone living in California is rich.

Its funny all our gasoline is refined here in the state, they don't truck it in like other states.

because we are easy pry. we love where we live and love our gas hogs.
hell my gas hogs include a 97 Expedition (5.4L), 94 YJ on 37s (2.5L),
64 Caddy (429), and we own a mobile business using a 99 Ranger (3.0L). i have seen the gas pricing go up 3 times in one day.

Gas prices are high for a couple of reasons:

-Mainly it's expensive to get crude oil here, as the fastest way to get crude oil to the U.S. is through Louisiana and Houston, TX

-We are almost at 100% refining capacity

-We have higher gas and diesel taxes.

Don't forget we have to have custom "boutique" gas blends, one for winter, one for summer. Summer blend costs more, so the price will soon go up again so the Sierra Clubbers won't overpollute while driving to see Yellow-Billed Penis Poppers in the mountains in their Suburbans.

I made this same remark when I saw the sign at my nearby rotten robbie, right next to the sign that proclaims "kerosene is back!!!"

Higher taxes on gas, our unwavering willingness to pay and of course, peoples reluctance to drill in ANWAR will keep these prices going up.

Anyone ever get the feeling that the REAL terrorist are the oil mogul (read OPEC) countries?

i watched a show on the history channel today about oil and its history. Did you know that when they first found oil in the USA they sold it for 35 dollars a barrel which equals 700 dollars a barrel today?
Before automobiles they used to just burn gasoline in big pits because they didn't know what to do with it after making kerosene out of the oil, (Gasoline is a by product of kerosene production)

I was wheeling up in the mountains when a tranny line came loose. $6 a quart for tranny fluid at that place.
