I would like to stay SUA and run 35" tires on my FJ60. I know MAF sells 4" suspension lift but I hear poor comments about this kit. I like OME for its quality. Also, is it a good idea running 16" wheels for better on-road manners? I appreciate constructive suggestions and I already searched! :flipoff2:

I'm running 35s on my FJ60 with OME and a 1.75" body lift. The wheels are the key to doing this and I don't have it 100% nailed yet. It looks as though a 15x8 with 3.25" backspacing is about what you need. I've played with spacers in the driveway fully articulating my suspension and I'm quite certain this is a good choice for backspacing. The problem is not so much in the front but in the rear. When the axle compresses in the rear it puts the tire right into the frame and body if the wheel isn't backspaced enough. I'm going to use extended shackles to give it a bit more of a boost. The shackles really wouldn't be necessary to keep it from rubbing, but it looks like a low rider with ballons under it. I don't have a photo on the website yet. But, I could email you one.

No SOA for my FJ60 as I have my Bronco for more extreme wheeling. Also, I have precious cargo (two young daughters) that I carry all the time. :D
Lcsixty, please e-mail pics to x-scott@attbi.com. Thanks!

I ran a 2 1/2" Ironman Kit on my 60 and loved the quality of the springs, shocks, and hardware. I could have run 35's on the street, but not off road. I needed another 2 inches to clear them well enough to have "OK" articulation. Bump stops would have been dropped at least an inch.
I ran 33x13.50 Baja claws on my rig, and could stuff the entire tire into both front and rear wheel well. Back spacing was 3 3/4". They did rub inside there, but no damage was done. OOps, I take that back, while pointing down hill fully articulated and wheels turned, the tires would catch the bottom edge of the front inner fender behind the bumper, and make a loud Ba da da da noise as the tire rubbed. I took a BFH to it and made a large dimple, but the body on my rig was already beat to hell by then
My plan was to lift the rig another 1 1/2" up front with a Shackle reversal, then add a monster shackle out back to level the rig. Then I would add a 1" body lift and be done with it. The SR would help keep the tire out of the fender, add 1 1/2" lift for cheap, and for you add stability on the street. We have a fella in our club running 35 BFG KM's with the above lift less the body kit. He does fine on 2 and 3 rated trails. When you air down those BFG's, there're almost 33"s anyway
