Gozuki 10-06-2001, 07:14 AM Jess, do you know what I would need to use this on a short shaft 300?
Now how about a kit that will put the caliper on the "top" of a fliped D300?
Tx Outlaw 10-06-2001, 08:16 AM That's awesome looking. I've got a few tho:
Is it correct that this would make the rear driveshaft around 4" shorter?
How does this help if you lose the rear driveshaft AND brakes?
Have you thought of making one that mounts to the front of the rear axle pinion?
Not trying to be negative or anything. I'm getting ready for my axle upgrades and thinking about all the options that may be available.
BabyWrangle 10-06-2001, 08:33 AM If you put a disc on the pinion and wheeled anything remotely difficult, you stand to smack the rotor on a rock and render it useless. Not to mention that if you bent the rotor far enough you wouldn't be able to move your rig without dragging the rear tires (because they would be locked up). Seems like more trouble than its worth.
CrazyCraig 10-06-2001, 09:18 PM Are you planning on building one for the Atlas?? If so I think I want one!!!

SHERPA 10-07-2001, 08:43 AM Jess,
will the atlas version running a 1350CV-
flanged combo require the rear shaft's length
to be shortened as well? how much if any?
onetoncv 10-07-2001, 02:46 PM no length change on the atlas version- i hear advanced adapters wants to put it in there catalouge if they like it-? on the 300 version the rotor hangs down 1" at the most - so running a skid should cover the problem of gettin hung on a rock- it is tough enough material it might even help you over the rock spinning -Ha Ha - any more q's? thanks for the input- Jess
Bgcj5 10-07-2001, 07:49 PM How is the brake activated it looks really nice but I am a little concerned with it affecting my the length of my drive shaft .I have a 72 cj5 with a ford t-18 and a 300. From the pic it looks like it extends a lot but that couls be just me. Well looks good anyway.
onetoncv 10-08-2001, 08:25 AM okay- here's the scoop- its machanically operated -cable-or other- its only 3/4 " longer cc than an origianl end yoke- hard to believe but true- and hangs down .250" (1/4 inch) past the bottom- so in short- it does not affect length much- and does not affect clearence much - hope this helps- jess

Hey Jess what are you using for the rotor? Is it a motocycle or quad rotor or did you machine it?
Rock Toy 10-08-2001, 08:56 AM Got one for my 205?
onetoncv 10-08-2001, 01:22 PM the 205 will follow the 300 kit - i'm supposed to be working on it right now-! i'll post it up- jess
Rokmycj 10-08-2001, 02:25 PM Do you have layaway? How about some promotional kits?

Joe
Bgcj5 10-08-2001, 03:14 PM Thanks Jess that did help. One more question would it be dot approved for an e brake?
RocnWilly 10-08-2001, 03:41 PM Jess,
Nice job. Have you done any long distance testing with the unit installed? I've heard from a friend of mine that he had a problem with the pads rubbung while driving and wearing out them out in a short period of time. I'm interested in the 205 version. Will the 205 version have a similar price tag? It would be great to run regular Chevy calipers on my 14 bolt and have the e-barake on the T/C. Keep up the good work.

onetoncv 10-08-2001, 08:23 PM Its a 1/4 " thick laser cut steel- and as for dot aproved - its jess aproved - but please use common sence when setting up the cable and setting the tension - its supposed to have some slack on the caliper not rub the pads - time is new here - so time will tell- and no promo kits will be released - sorry- too much time and money going out for this set up- Jess
