hello,
i have a 58 cj5.i want to install baja plastic seats.the problem is on mounting the driver seat over the gas tank.one think is to use some spare original seats that i have,cut the back,weld a solid plate to the bottom and bolt the seats.
any other suggestions?if you have photos would be great.

Not an early CJ5 guy, but why not move the gas tank? Get a fuel cell?

just made one new shinny aluminium gas tank.its not a problem for me.just trying to have the best idea for mounting the seats.

Not sure what your asking then.

Best thing I can think of would be to do a roll cage with the seat mounting built into that. If the gas tank is still under the seat, move it to the rear floor of the jeep.
