I am trying to get interest in a "Friends of" group that specifically represents rockcrawling in Johnson Valley. I have already purchased a domain for Friends Of Johnson Valley and added a basic start page. http://www.fojv.org The site needs tons of content added.

FOJV has no real leadership at this time so volunteers are needed! Right now there are two other "friends groups" that represent dual sport riders. Friends of Stoddard Valley and Friends of Giant rock. They are hosting a meeting in Barstow on Thursday the 20th at the Holiday Express at Outlet Center. Those interested should plan to attend since we should work with those guys for our common goals (keep the land open).

So who is interested in a "Friends" group specific to rockcrawling?

If you haven't already, get in touch with Mustard Dog (Eric) on this bb. He and the Tin Benders is where I'd start if I were in your shoes.

Hi Scott and everyone

Here is what we have so far, I not trying to step on what Scott VanDell
is doing, he has been in this loop, Im just going to post the info
release of the Stoddard meeting.

You guys are more than welcome to participate in this.

For immediate release

As we know, Johnson and Stoddard Valleys are among our premier
racing and desert Off Highway Vehicle recreation destinations.

It is common knowledge our open areas are currently under a
serious threat by Military encroachment and Renewable energy
interests. Until recently we were under the impression that our
open riding areas were safe from the threats of land grabs and closures.

There is no time like the present to unite and take a stand
against these threats.

It looks like a go for Thursday night at the Holiday Inn 7pm
for the first official meeting of “Friends of Stoddard Valley”

We are seeking pubic involvement with this new venture
regarding issues at Stoddard Valley and Johnson Valley

I would like to thank Dave Cheney and crew for their work so far in securing
the room at the Holiday inn at Outlet Center/ Lenwood.

Check out the following http://www.fosvohv.com/
Dave and his crew also have drummed up an impressive list of supporters

So far we have confirmed leadership or representation from the following groups

Friends of Jawbone
District 37
Friends of Giant Rock
CORVA
CA4WDC. Inc.

Again, the meeting place is Holiday Inn Express 7pm Thursday night 20th

Public is invited to participate

As we know, Johnson Valley is on the hot plate. This would be a good
launching point to discuss our options and ideas at a face to face level.

Any questions, Post them here or my direct Email address Wnosala@aol.com
Thanks

Thanks Wayne. I am all for us working together for our common goals. Friends of Stoddard Valley looks like it will work well for our needs. Lets all show them some support and attend the meeting this Thursday!

Wayne,

You may have already seen a few threads about the meeting with Rep. Duncan Hunter this Saturday. If not, take a look at:

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666676

This should certainly be brought up in the Thursday meeting. All off-road groups should be represented at that meeting.

Thanks again,

Scott Van Dell

It's lame so far, but I do have a start of an overall contact/info page about our efforts to Save the Hammers. I'm trying to get all the groups listed that are involved in actually saving this awesome wheeling place and mecca of motorized recreation.

Send me links and stuff to post. It ain't pretty, but it's up there to help.

Visit http://www.savethehammers.com

ps. you can thank BlueRibbon Coalition for giving me the go ahead and time to help save this area for OHV use. (www.sharetrails.org)
