: Who knows this Zuki?

A few months ago, I bought a Zuki off Ebay. It is your basic well built rig. By the amount of work done to this and it's history of being found roaming about Moab...I figured some one on here might recgonize it.

I have been making may adjustments to pass Virginia's safety inspection. I had to add front LED parking lights, LED turn signals, wider wheel flairs and rewire the reverse, back plate lights and horn to work.

The last owner obviously put allot of time into this thing. But, I had to scratch my head at some of the "thought-less" things he/she did. Such as...
- Carry a replacement belt and clutch cable instead of routing it away from the power steering pulley (where it ate threw it).
- Not much time was spent wiring stuff. A million of those plastic wire connectors were used instead of using sodder to make the connection bullet proof.
- Added power steering and let it boil over instead of addding a oil cooler (I added one...see pic). Still waiting for my new assist clyinder to arrive.

The transfer case was built by Trail Tough. But, I can only find 2 gears selections. Seems to be 2W-high and 4W-low. Could that be caused by an old shifter seat (ring thingy)?

Would you cut the rear flairs short on the rear side? I cannot decide if it looks weird or will be ripped off easy if left as is. Yea, getting it to fit with the exo cage was a beiotch!

I still have work to do. But, here are some pics if it as it stands today...

Just a thought, but if you probably have a better shot of us recognizing the rig if you stand a little further back and take a full body shot.

I'm not trying to contact the original owner. I was just curious if anyone here has seen it around. I can't get it out of the garage to take a overall shot. I'm guessing a chick owned it? Here are 2 the previous owner took (came with the truck)...

I bought them off Ebay. They are bike turnsignals. They are bright as hell and project straight forward, I could use them as fog lights in a pinch :grinpimp:

Man those flares do look like a pain, can you even fill up at gas stations?
I'd cut em off where the body ends, not much they can say about that I'm sure.

It seems Virginia is way more strict with their street legal laws than California is. That's odd. I thought California was supposed to suck the most!

I can get the gas cap off without issues. I'm thinking I will get it inspected...come home...and saw off the back side of the rears :)

VA has way too many lawyers and political crap.

Don't worry, there are dozens of more reasons why Balifornia sucks the most.:flipoff2:

I never have trouble getting my samurai inspected in virginia, I didn't even know we had a tire coverage law, but it looks like you won't have any trouble now. good luck

yeah.. whatever you do... don't move here! you can't smoke anywhere, you can't drink at the beach anymore, it seems to be illegal to drive anything but a hybrid prius or a Hummer. You can't afford the gas, you can't pass emissions if you could afford the gas.

Upside is, no safety inspections, and you can do pretty much anything to your suspension or chassis that you wan't and still have a street legal car. (if it passes emissions)

If you wan't to get rid of those bushwackers.. let me know. I'll take em off your hands. :D
