I just picked up an 8 lug 14BSF that was pulled from a 91 2wd 2500 chevy pickup. I got it cheap and with the intention of swapping it in place of the 10bolt (along with a Dana44HD front) in my 91 'Burb to make due for a while until I go 1-ton. I haven't measure the perch width on the 14BSF yet (took the axle straight to storage with the impression that it came our of a 91 Suburban) ,but I've been told that the perch width is wider on the 88 and newer pickups versus the 73-91 blazers and burbs.

Am I going to have to waste the money torching off the perches to get this axle to work in my Burb?

Also, the brake lines from the truck were left completely intact. Will they bolt-in or was the brake line routing totally different in the pickups?

My 1991 K1500 has spring perch spaced approximately 47" pin to pin. My C&C axle from 84 was spaced at 39" pin to pin. I'm sure your existing 10-bolt perches aren't that narrow, but I am fairly certain that they are narrower than 47".

Got a tape measure? :flipoff2:

I did a 6 lug 14BSF swap into my 1995 K1500 to replace the 10 bolt. My 6-lug 14BSF came from a 1991 2WD C2500. The spring pad width was the same, (I think the WMS was slightly narrower), but that was same body style to same body style. Even if they are not the same width, it's it's not difficult or hard to set the pinion angle and weld new spring perches.
