I am in the midst of stuffing the 500 Cad into my SSII and have my heart set on opening up the rad supports and stuffing a 41 x20 inch Chevy aluminum 2 core truck radiator in there. I want to cut off the foreward most body mounts and replace them with square tubing which would place the mount much wider and give me room for the radiator after also slicing up the radiator supports.
I am wondering though about tire clearance with the mount sticking out much wider than stock. I have a version of the Maulis/Weed reverse shackle setup so my front tire is forward of stock by about an inch and a half at full compression. I know I should have cycled the suspension before I started this deal, but now it is a matter of trying to figure out if 35's or maybe someday 37's will rub on the mount.
Does anyone with stock height bumpstops and big meats know what kind of flexed clearance they have up front?

What clearance. I just put 37's on mine and still have the stock bumpstops. But I trimmed the S#IT out of my fenders and have full width chevy 3/4T-D44 up front with one leaf spring removed and extended shackles.

If that all still works, let me know what measurement EXACTLY you need.:smokin:

What I am asking is with one wheel off the ground and fully stuffed with the wheel pointed in, what kind of clearance do you have from the tire to the fender/radiator support? If the mount that supports the fender/radiator support stuck out from the frame about 8 inches further, and was made out of 3x3 square tubing rather than the little triangular thing, would your tire hit it?
Thanks
