So I have to buy 5 of these for Grooms gifts and need some feedback from people who have them.

I have heard the Inova's are VERY good but the bulbs burn out WAYY before their 300 hour rating

I have 5 or 6 streamlights and have nothing bad to say about them. I use them everyday all day long and I can drop them and the bulbs never fail.

I have a streamlight polystinger with an AC and a DC charger. Actually have had it for about 8 years and its still going strong. I have just replaced the battery for the second time. It would be hard to beat.

Oh, and if you decide on the streamlight, let me quote you a price.

Ive never used the Inova, but it would be tough for me to suggest anything other then a streamlight after the abuse that my stinger has taken for the last 5-6 years. I've done things to that light that should have killed it a long time ago and it still just works. I've replaced the battery once and a bulb once.

I replied before the poll was up... I didn't know there was a bacon wrapped maglight option.... this changes everything! :D

It's hard to make an accurate decision with out knowing the models you are talking about

Inova Micro -vs- Stinger :D

For what its worth I know someone else on here got the streamlights for gifts.

I don't own either, but Maglites are good and wrapped in bacon has to make them better. :D

I have a slew of Streamlights....nothing but great things to say about them. However, I did have a switch go bad in a 4AA....sent it to them, sent a new unit back in return.

Where did you get the batteries, and how much were they?

Get the Insight Typhoons, they are what I gave out at my wedding. Pete has some kick ass prices on them too.

Pretty much any sporting goods store that carries streamlight will have the batteries too. I know I have seen them at Bass Pro. MSRP is around $20.

Agree with Pete. This question is nearly unanswerable until model numbers under consideration are given.

Or at least battery type, price range, or SOMETHING to reduce the options, cuz there's a TON of them...

Streamlight LED stinger. The new bling. Twice the battery life, way brighter than the traditional lamp. The newest Led model has rear and normal on-off switch. Rubber lense protector. 4 modes of light too, high-medium-low-quick pulse. Blinds people up close. Use it everyday. Got some guys at work to get them too after seeing mine. They have the traditional lamp and couldn't wait to switch. Comes w/ both ac-dc chargers. somewhere around the $90-100 range. Mines been through a lot of abuse. Functioned fine under a broken water pipe.
Good luck, and LED stinger all the way.

Looking to spend between $80 and $100 for a rechargeable light with AC and DC chargers.

No.

I've broken two, and the total in my old shop was either 5 or 6 dead LED stingers. Now none of the tool trucks in the area will even think about selling one - they've all been bitten with repeated warranty issues.

Get 'em the Strion. After the second LED lasted a week, I said screw it and bought a Strion. I love the damn thing, especially the size. Nearly as bright as the Stinger, half the size, and batteries last just as long. The main drawback to a Stinger is that you can't pocket the light - it's just too big. The Strion is small, and built like a tank. I've dropped, kicked, and smashed mine into things, and it's still running after all-day use for 10 months.

Oh, and LED Stingers die when dropped a couple of times. The power-regulating circuit board between the battery and the lamp takes a dump, and it either won't turn on, or won't shut off. Usually the latter - you end up unscrewing the tailcap to disconnect the battery since it ignores the on/off switch. (It's not really a true switch, just a pushbutton that tells the chip to start/stop/strobe power to the LED).

Otherwise get a $20 Maglite and spend the rest on bacon!!

Checkout the Pelican 7060 LED; 120 lumen's, rechargeable, two push buttons, 2 hour runtime. If you search good you can sometimes find them for around $100.

I personally use a Malkoff LED dropin for my 3D Maglite; rated 240 lumen's, 6+ hour runtime; $75 and so far very durable.

Thanks for the input, looks like the Stinger XT pn#75013 is going to be the winner, I think throwing in a pack of peppered bacon too would be a nice surprise...:D
