i got a 04 f150 with a 5.4, i have to push the gas in alot to get it to go. with most car if you put it in drive and let off the brake they will start to roll alittle, but mine will just sitt there like it in neutral until i give about 1/2 inch in on the pedal, any ideas? thanks

My truck (same) had a similar problem. Turned out to be the Throttle Body.

i was think about gettin a programer and see if turnin the idle up will help. i want one not just for that reason but it would be nice if it fixes it.

What RPM @ Idle?

There is some lag built into the stock programming of those trucks. If you get a programmer and just turn up the idle it won't help that issue since these trucks are throttle by wire anyway. Most custom tunes that come on the programmers eliminate that lag as well as the sloppy tranny shifts. I have an xcal2 from troyer performance on my '05, he takes into account any mods you have done as well as what other characteristics you want. From there you can adjust various parameters on your own, including the idle if you'd like it to idle at 1500 rpm.

oh ok, i was under the impress that it was a electronic throttle body. but yes is does seem like the throttle is laging. i plan to buy a program when bush gives me my money.

I put an Edge Evolution programmer in mine and love it. I don't know how much power it actually gives, but the driveability it 10x better at least. :D

well i have been readin alittle about the edge along with tryin to figure out what size levelin kit to get(still got a jeep i will have to pull). seem like it does get along with a cold air intake too well. i want to make haulin my jeep easier on the truck. i figure if i get a programer, cold air intake, and true duals this will help[tell me if im wrong], along with brake box and other things.
