4.3 vortec shallow pan? [Archive]

Just wondering which engine you guys are pulling the pan off of to get rid of the super deep back end of the stock one? I have a vortec out of a 94 and it has the super deep back half to clear the front IFS, so was wondering if I could shorten it up with a different pan and pickup from something else.
Help me chevy gurus!
