I found a front Chevy d60 with 35 spline outers.
It has no caliper brackets and the spindle studs seem too long.
Am I assuming correct that the caliper brackets also go on the spindle studs?
I know it has 35 spline outers, but the prior owner took the tubes out of the center and had the tubes honed to put bigger axles in. Didn't they also have 35 spline 1.5" inners? Could they have put bigger inners in?
How hard is it to find the caliper brackets and bearing hubs etc, Chevy, non-dually style?
Thanks and yes I did a search already. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

Not sure why the owner honed the "tubes" that wouldn't make any sense since the inner axle is 35 spline on the chevy 60 front. The older versions taper down past the seal in the centersection while newer versions are inch and half the whole way out..As for the spindles, that is the place that would make sense to "hone".But, you do not have to hone the chevy 60 front spindle to run 35 spline outers. You have to hone the spindles on dana 60 rears to fit a 35 spline axle;but, not a chevy 60 front. The studs are long because the caliper bracket and spindle both bolt to the studs..The caliper bracket and bearing hub can be fairly difficult to locate. You can use a single wheel or dually hub. The dually hub can be converted to a single wheel hub. What happened to the hubs and caliper brackets? Good luck

The prior, prior, owner used it for truck pulls and didn't use brakes. It has rotors welded to the hubs, both hubs are different.
I haven't bought it yet and am leaning toward not.
Thanks

my dodge axleshafts are much larger than 1.5 toward the midle of the inner shaft. nechs down to 1.5 for the splines
Bob Roggy had a Chevy front that needed the spindles bored out to fit 35 spliners.

Consistency does not seem to be too common among the D60s. I have one of the D60HD rears with 1.5" axles <IMG SRC="smilies/bounce.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/bounce2.gif" border="0">
Was Roggy's an older axle?

That's what I was thinkin', maybe from an earlier Kaiser. All the one's I've seen &
have can easily house the 35 spline outers.
As for the caliper brackets, give Gerald @
Sunray Engineering a call (817)-594-9201.
I bought some used caliper brackets, rotor
backing plates & spindle ring for $20 a side.
They may have some used hubs (non internally
splined) for sale. They reuse the internally
spline hubs for their conversions. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

The chevy axle I referred to is the same way.I simply said 1.5 all the way for simplicity. The axle tapers up to 1.71 ..at least all 10 of mine do.

Never seen a chevy 60 front that the spindle had to be bored out to fit the 35 spline outer. If so, then the spindle was changed to the incorrect spindle or it wasn't an OEM dana 60 front out of a chevy.Every spindle I have ever seen off a 60 front for a chevy will easily handle a 35 spline outer..The spicer part number for a chevy 60 front spindle has not changed since it first year in 1977.For that matter the spindle on an open knuckle dana 70 front which uses the 35 spline outers is the same as a chevy 60 front spindle..
Maybe one slipped out (bad quality control)?
