Looks like they are coming out.
Ive been wanting a Beowulf upper but this might be more practical since i have an extra AR lower and a few k rounds of 5.45 :D:D

Wonder if that'll create a market for cheap domestically-made 5.45....
well I can dream...

If the price is right, it would *seriously* motivate me to get an AR-15 like I've been talking about for the past year or two... :D
Especially since I've got 5.45 ammo on hand, and have a 5.45 rifle and plan on maybe one more.

Is the round inherently accurate?

Ballistically, it is very similar to a 5.56, and yes, it's fairly accurate.

AIM says $580 w/ two modified mags.

I've been wanting a commie rifle in 5.45x39, but I've sworn myself to private sales for awhile. Can't find one of these anywhere. Without starting a silly debate, part of the allure is the reliability of AK-pattern rifles. I'd buy an upper for my AR, though, if it looks like it'll function fine with corrosive ammo.
