I recently picked up a gun safe from Gander Mnt. during their sale. I got the Liberty 50 cuft with the textured finish. Its 42"x72.5"x27.5" and weighs 1100lbs:eek: I bought the floor model for $1167 out the door. They brought it out of the store on a pallet jack and 5 of us tipped it and slid it into the back of my truck after I removed the tailgate ofcourse! I drove around the back of my house and backed up to the deck. My front door lines up with the sliding glass door in the back of the house where the deck is. So I pulled the Jeep out of the snow and unspooled the winch, ran it through the house and hooked it up to the safe. That fawker barely fit though the door. Once I got it in the house I used those furniture moving discs. Used a johnson bar to lever the safe up enough to slide the discs under. I didnt think they would work but they did. Two of us were able to slide the safe over hardwood, tile and then carpet with out to much difficulty. I highly recomend those discs. The 4 of them are rated for 1300lbs, and they cost about $20. Now I have to work on filling it up!:D

Are you going to refigure those shelves (left) when you get more guns?

I don't have any pics of doing it, but we drove my buggy onto the porch and used the winch to lower (slide, really) my safe, on its side, down the stairs into the basement. Amazing how useful a winch is.
