Took a lug nut from a big rig to the windshield on a drive last week.
Anyone know where I can get a replacement for less then $800:confused:
Anyone have a used one in the Bay Area, CA?
It's a 90 RR.

Britishrecycling won't ship windsheilds, but it could be worth the drive. The other option is to get one without the heating elements, much cheaper, down near 250-300.

Thanks. sent them an email. If i can get a good used one for $200ish i'd take the drive.
I also have a '90 RRC. When I needed a new windshield I just went to Safelite. I requested Dealer Glass and was quoted somewhere around $400. Since my deductable was $100 it only cost me $100. But the glass isn't that damn expensive.

I know I love my heated windshield and it would be worth it to me to get the original with the heater elements if the insurance is paying anyway. The guys at British Recycling in Sac usually have a whole lot of parts in stock and are often willing to deal a little bit to get you what you want. Usually, they'll do better in person than over the phone.
Good luck!

Hey for future reference,
Check with your insurance about a "glass by-back" or "rider". I have one with Farmers, and my deductable is only $100.00. That covers all glass on the vehicle. I lost my drives side door window do to a worn channel and regulator, and they still re-imbursed me.
Worth a look.

My deduc is $250 with good rates. A few months after I bought my rangie I had the front glass as well as the door glass all replaced for $250 dollars. The windows were badly sand blasted and during sunset/rise it was truly impossible to see out of them. A trip to Moab and I got in a bit of a sandstorm and told the insurance company about the "sand storm" and they said I was covered? I left out the part about them being really bad before....oops.

our deductable is $500

You guys have lousy insurance. I've always had 100% glass coverage with no deductible. Ask your agent about the price, it's probably only a couple $ more a year.
this won't help the original poster much but...
I've got a spare rangie windshield off a parts truck. It's untinted, unheated, and has a couple chips. I think it's nicer than the ones on my trucks. It's in my way- so it's FREE to anyone who'll pick it up in CT.
