Ok, I am assuming that the big vacumn device attached to my tranny is some sort of kick dowm? am I right? and if so how can I bypass it? or hook it up? just trying to figure out what it actually does. Thanks

No. That vacuum modulator makes the tranny shift out of 1st gear. YOU NEED THAT HOOKED UP. Some hook to a vacuum port on the manifold and sometimes they hook to the carb. Doesnt really matter as long as there is vacuum.

The kickdown cable should be hooked up to, but its not as important. It shifts better with it hooked up. (I have 2 trucks without it hooked up)
