Hey fellas. I just put the knuckle out from a 1974 3/4 ton super 20 on my ford D44. I needed to convert the 5 lug to 8. Everything is working great untill the test drive. On the knuckle is the caliper mounting bracket. Somehow, the threads have stripped. To the point of the bolt that holds the caliper in place will not torque down. It will kinda finger tighten, but that it.
Is there any way to fix this problem w/o replacing the caliper mount? A friend has sugested reaming it out, and puting a bolt in its place with a nut on the end. But im not horrably shure if reaming a hole in the knuckle and caliper would be a good idea.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.
