the core support is spot welded to the inner fender and the inner fender is spot welded to the firewall/cab. I replaced my core support with a new one from Keystone last year. The new support set me back $100.

if theirs bolts, then somebody else has had it apart, cause from the factory they were spot welded......

It's all welded.

Just curious, but why not get a core support and use tube to connect it to the body or just eliminate the core support altogether and do it all out of tube?

Take a look at this, maybe it will give you some ideas.

well the problem is this is a DD aswell as my weekend wheeler and dont really wanna get into all that if not needed, but i might end up doing something along those lines if its bent that bad, didnt get to rip into it yet because im waiting for the insurance guy to come and see the truck so i can get some cash to fix it

I would bet you'll probably be able to straighten it unless they are really bad (I would say you would probably know by now if they were that bad).

It's too bad I cut mine all up on my BII or else I could have just cut them off and given them to you.

they arent terrible, but the front end is moved over about 2 to 3" and i dunno if its gunna stay after bending it back but i guess ill give it a try and if it fails ill have to try something else

There are about 20 spot welds per side on the ranger/BII front clip that attatch it to the cab. A 5/16 drill bit is perfect to remove them. Drill all of them out, unbolt the front two body mounts and the frint clip, radiator and all, comes right off. Just use a few bolts to re-secure it to the cab once your done. Easy peasy... While you have the front end apart, its the perfect time to slip in that v8 :)

lol, yeah drop in a v8. when i have yer money i will :flipoff2: ...

i think i might just drill them out and bolt it back together with a new one from the junkyard, if they are bent real bad, then when i do the 4.0 swap itll be alot easier
