3.07

Or if you want to learn how to check yourself.....read the ID tag or count the teeth

Yup, probably 3.07:1. Could be something else
but it's unlikely. Jack up the rear of the Jeep,
mark the driveshaft and tire, turn the the tire
one turn and count the driveshaft turns. This
will get you real close.

My 89 sahara with a D30/35 combo came with 3.55's as an option, but its more than likely a wonderfully sluggish 3.07

my '87 had 307's with the 4 banger...if there's now a 4.2 in yours, isn't it likely that they regeared?

If you want to check your gear ratio by turning a tire and counting the pinion turns this is the correct way. With an open diff you have to turn the tire two revolutions because it also turns the spider gears. Or you can turn the tire once and double the turns of the pinion. If you have a locker or a limited slip you turn the tire once. Good luck.

skitzo, I'm wondering how you even turned stock tires w/ 3.07's and a 4banger. You had 4.10's...
