I am replacing the clutch in a 2000ish f-150 with a v-6 and 5 speed 2WD, got the clutch and flywheel out yesterday but it was a royal PAIN IN THE ASS anyone got some pointers or point me in the right direction to find info for taking the trans out and putting it back in easier?

My main problems are that the damn exhaust runs right behind the trans and does not alow the trans to slide back far enough to make the job easier.

Second is how do I remove the hydrolic line from the internal salve? It seems to have some sort of quick connect of some kind.

It would make putting the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate alot easier to install if I could just get the trans out of the way.

Thanks.

It should have a white plastic collar around it. Shove that collar into the connector using a couple small screwdrivers until it's completely inside it, and the line should pop right off.
