Front page of today's NY Times has a big picture of a pile of 7.62x54R? covered with a green "patina". Interesting story if you've ever considered becoming an international arms dealer.

Looks like the guy that had the contract is in pretty deep shit now.

It's 7.62x54R... That "patina" just means it's going to shoot extra good.... I don't see the big deal LOL

Shit you can barely by 1000rds of Remington Thunderbolts for that...:shaking:

I have one issue here....they claim he repackaged the ammo, taking it out of it's hermetically sealed ammo cans... If this shit has been sealed up then sitting for 40-50 years is no big deal... And a few months or years out of the ammo can didn't hurt it...

That Albanian 7.62x54R is some of the nicest mil-surp ammo I've shot. I'm getting pretty low on it, and have switched to Czech '54R which isn't bad, but not as good as the Albanian, in my opinion.

A NATO program that ended last year involved 16 Western nations contributing about $10 million to destroy 8,700 tons of obsolete ammunition. The United States contributed $500,000. Among the items destroyed were 104 million 7.62 millimeter cartridges — exactly the ammunition AEY sought from the Albanian state arms export agency.

I could have disposed of that for them :D

You know I was thinking about it and fawk...this kid is a dumbass. He had it fawkin made. How fawkin cool would it be to be cruising around 2nd world countries TESTING arms, buying arms, bribing officials and shit and all before the age of 25. Its the shit they make movies about...that's not normal life kind of stuff....

I would drop out of college yesterday, if I had a chance at doing what he was doing.
