Here are a few shots of W’s rig and new hybrid front end. The axle housing is cruiser front, with pre-Rockwell 2.5 ton outers, FZJ-80 E-locker converted to air operation. The whole set up is working great, and beefy! For those who do not know W he is the owner of Over the Hill 4x4 in Portland OR. www.overthehill4x4.com

no offense but gawd that thing is ugly....
:D
Question though.
Why did he do the rockwell ends? got a good deal on them? What axle shafts is he using? and I assume the standard cruiser center section?
I love different stuff.
:D
I heard NAPA is going to carry parts for that setup.......
Damn....that is..........big and busy.

Yup it’s all in the eye of the... well you know the rest.
A friend of his gave him a whole 2.5 ton truck, so yup the price was right. The axle shafts are the MASSIVE military jobs just reworked by the Dutchman for the cruiser dif. I have not seen them out of the axle, but W plans to do a complete tare down to inspect all the mods. At that time I hope to see joints and axels. James that works in his shop uses both hands to describe the size of the joints. Here is a shot of the outer hub, it is over 6.5” in diameter.

Yes W was talking about how he was trying to keep it some what capible in the trees, after all this is Oregon! (narow) The rear is run of the mill cruiser I think.
Look HP? I don't understand.
Yes the thing is busy, you never know what W's got cook'in up in the back for the next majior mod. With the four independt controlled air bags an the monster built 532 CID motor this baby goes where it wants too! I still think he needs somthig dif. set up for body or tube on the front end...

Crazy man, crazeeee.. but i kinda like it. One thing that made me go  though, is the heim joint on the panhard bar without any kind of safety washer on it.. (single shear is it called?)
That, and I dunno about the bent tie rod, although it's HUGE, and was done for obvious reasons.... Neat!

What is that thing??? Looks like 50 different peoples ideas on one rig. I have to say I would be afraid to drive it with the brakes and the steering box/sector shaft hanging down, even with that flat bar support....
I really like the air operated FJ80 locker!!!
