ok, so i went to put my 4in lift on an had all my parts off and the radius arm lowering brackets are wrong! My truck is a 1980 f150 made in late 1979. can i get the other brackets off a 1981 and modify the holes in the frame to match my brackets? this is a tuff country 4in and i really would like to get it on. i found out that my truck doesnt float in mud it sinks and floats on the belly of the body. 35s no lift and burried to the middle of the door(and being pulled out by a dodge:barf: and chevy:barf: hooked up to each other :mad3: i hung my head for the fact i didnt get pulled out by a ford but then laughed at the two trucks who pulled me out my dad and my buddie shane).

I'd just solid axle it now... if you don't you're just going to do it later.

You should call tuff country and find out for sure if you ordered the wrong kit or they sent you the wrong part. It would be best to know for sure before you drill holes in the frame and mounts.
If not I dont see why you cant drill some new mounting holes to get the drop brackets to fit on.
I would really just do a solid axel like previously said you will be alot more happier and it will last longer without broken shit all of the time.

Call tuff country.
I would just sas it now while you got it torn down, and go 1 tons.
My buddy Nick did the same thing you are doing to his 83 150 and hated it, then sas'd his with a 44 and 9", hasn't even wheeled it yet and wants to go one tons.

i can get a 79 f150 front axle with arms and coils for 250bucks. i just rly think its over kill for running 35s to going and pulling my high school buddies stock 4x4s out with my bumper and 4speed. but should i really go ahead and solid axle it. if so anybody have pictrues. after all its not my wheeler. yet it takes my ass to school every day and home and pulls double duty as a farm/parts running truck. it does get thorugh the snow better than any one else and pulles them.

Are you trying to lower the stock brackets for a stock radius arm or do you have some longer radius arms to use? I can probably help you. email me sometime

Just dooo et. IMO opinion it's worth it just in the fact that if you ever want to lift it more you can, and that it wont eat tires like the ttb does.
Like everyone else said, I did a TTB lift and hated it, then I went 1 tons and never looked back.
BTW this sin't a wheeler either, anything but actually.

Call me crazy, but you're burying it to the middle of the doors, and then only installing a 4" lift? A 4" lift ain't gonna help in that situation.
