Ok guys i just put a flat bed and fuel cell on my 98 ranger. i am having problems with the fuel delivery aspect. i am going through way too much fuel. i am running a Bosch in-line pump rated at 44psi (napa part #BSHN69100). it is wired to the factory power and ground for the factory pump. the factory fuel pressure regulator is set/made for/allows 39.5psi. the motor is set up for 30-40psi. i tested the fuel pressure four days ago and it was 51psi and today i tested it at 110psi (neither of which make sense). i also pulled and plugged the vacum line on the fuel pressure regulator and there was no change. every time the truck started hard but idled and reved fine. i also pulled a spark plug and it was black with carbon but dry. so i dont have a clue what is going on or what to do about it. any help would be great.

Thanks in advance!
some pics for you all

I dont think the truck has a return style fuel system. At least i cant seem to find the return line anywhere. Therefore i wouldnt know where to check for the plugged return line. The regulator is a good possibility but ive read that typically when a regulator goes bad there would be fuel in the vacum line or it would have a rough idol. It has neither. Yet i will probably change the regulator this weekend to check.

The truck is a 1998.
