: ARFCOM Member? Itch in your throat? Solution inside...
f0cker 03-27-2008, 10:10 PM That itching in your throat is Mark LaRue's dick. :shaking: I've never seen ANYBODY get blown like that choad licker is, not even camo. I am not a member over there, as ARFCOM is too good for my gmail account, but I do read over there occasionally.
This link (http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=363700) highlights what is wrong with that website. Not pimping LT? You're fucked. I honestly think people over there beat off to his website and his damn bottle opener that stabs you in the leg if it's in your pocket. According to ARFCOM, LT essentially invented optic mounts, and anyone that comes out with something that is as good or better (ADM) is simply copying them and isn't worthy of business. I have a LaRue ACOG mount, and it's nice. But it's a fucking hunk of aluminum, LOTS of places can make something like it. I regretted buying it, as I really didn't want to give LT money, but the ARMS mount I got wasn't working out for me.
Holy fuck though, I've never seen such stupidity in a forum all at once (other than DU). So many fucking armchair SF SEAL HSLD OPERATOR RECON PARAJUMPING RANGERS in one thread makes my head hurt. Why the fuck do so many dumb people have to have money to support bad businesses like this?
/rant, long day and stupid people make me mad.

I was actually just considering ordering the larue side flip mount for my poor mans magnifier. I havent seen anything comparable. Something cheaper than $150 would be nice.
Havent heard of ADM.. time to hit google.
I dont visit ARFcom.. my email wasnt acceptable a few years ago so I said fawk it. Never tried again after all the stories like this I heard.
f0cker 03-27-2008, 10:35 PM It's American Defense Mounts. Dunno if they make a flipout mount for a magnifier yet.

This post is full of win...
The bandwagon bullshit is why I mostly look at pictures....anything I do read I take with a grain of salt.
Holy fuck. Larue is a cunt. The members over there are some of the most tacti-cool, engineering term dropping mother fawkers i've ever seen.
This may be the most fully superior waste of money I've ever seen.

Here's the pic he posts...

Then here's one of his arguments
2. PROVIDE THE DESIRED FORWARD OFFSET FOR CORRECT EYE RELIEF.
Looks to me like he could have even flipped the fawkin mount 180 degrees and still had enough rail to keep the scope where it is.... Not to mention how many of the ARTARDS don't have a full run of picatinny rail all the way to the tip of the barrel LOL
kwrangln 03-28-2008, 05:13 AM Completely different mentality over there. Here the goal is to get as much performance as you can while spending as little as possible, there the goal is to spend as much as possible so you can say you have the best name parts and post pretty pictures.
I recently learned this in a post about non folding back up iron sights.

Might work great for a plinker. Since I bet my life on mine, I will stick with proven parts. See a BACKUP Iron Sight is for when your primary sight has failed. This means your BACKUP is the last line between you and "eye-muzzle-target" shooting.

Please tell me the difference besides the fancy price tag and bragging rights due to the name.
Enquiring newbies need to know.

I don't blindly follow trends, but I buy quality gear so it has at least a snowballs chance in hell of surviving what I am going to put it through.
It's your ass, defend it with what you want. My life is worth more to me than the extra $50 I spend on my BUIS. [;D]

I'm only being a pain in the ass because there is little to no direct comparisons around here, its all "buy this, its the best". I'm more of a show me why its the best type o guy. If you can show a direct comparison between two parts, one fails and the other doesn't under the same circumstances, then yes that part is better. Merely spending alot or feeling that it is higher quality does not make it so. Unless you can cite specific material or construction differences that obviously make one better than the other, then I'm going to drop your opinion strait in the opinion only file.
Since the chopped carry handle and the sight you pictured are made of the same material (pretty sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong), same basic design, same single point retention to rail, there has to be some difference to make up for doubling the price besides the lable right? Maybe, maybe not.
Someone show me. Come back with "Its machined out of 7075 aluminum instead of 6061", or "Its milled from an aluminum billet instead of cast", maybe even "its heat treated to a higher specification", something, anything besides "I think its better".
I'll pass on the koolaid thanks, but I'll take a beer if ya got one.

We keep coming to the same spot in this argument. It's your rifle and YOUR money. If you want to see if it's better, do your chopped carry handle mod and beat the hell out of it.
I am satisfied with what I have for now. When I "upgrade" I will go with the LaRue because I don't need elevation on a patrol rifle. I will do the same test with the LaRue with the added knowledge that if I bust it and call Mark LaRue he will probably replace it after I explain exactly what I did with it then figure out how to make it better so the next knuckle dragger can't do the same thing.
I use my rifle for work. I have yet to see a valid argument on why I should have scrimped on my sights when someone's life depends on them.
At this point I gave up. Not one single fact to back up why something is better besides he smacked a tree and spent more money so it has to be quality.:shaking:
There is some good info over there, I've learned alot just reading, but dont think I'll be posting much anymore or looking for realistic comparisons of anything. If it isn't Colt, Larue, or some other worshipped name then most there dont want any part of it. Hell, most of the rifle pics look like they went down an accessory aisle at the gunshop with the crap magnet turned on to HIGH.

I looked at them when I considering a new scope mount. I went with Armalite instead. I would completely agree with Focker when I say that the majority of arfcommers are a bunch of dick licking choads when it comes to scope mounts and the such. When was doing an inquiry over there about my scope mount I asked specifically about the armalite mount and said that LT was out of my budget. Well the response was that "scope will never hold zero and you get what you pay for"(translation= I cover my LT scope mount with dry lube and beat off with it and you will shoot like shit if you can't afford LT)
OOOH and I bought the Armalite mount and it works beautifully
PONY_DRIVER 03-28-2008, 05:47 AM Fuck Mark Larue, that cocksucker showed up on my website spouting some stupid shit about his product, trash talking the competition (superior to his shit) and got the boot for being a cunt. It's amazing how many assholes there are in the business.
I think they got into it with ARMS once over stealing trademarked terms, specifically the term "throw lever". It is hilarious to watch the various boards break into their cliques and wail and gnash their teeth at each other over black and white issues. :shaking:

If I feel like anger-banging a chick, I read m4carbine beforehand. That is the most "holier than thou" website in the fucking world. Not Colt, LMT, LaRue or Noveske? No good, will never fire, and will actually kill you and your loved ones. Half of those guys talk about how they got a whatever gun because they didn't want their gun to fail. Bring up RRA supplying guns to the DEA and they say the the government chooses the cheapest bidder. Bring up the fact that Colt sells to the government and all of the sudden you're band.
I've figured out that in order to own a Colt/LMT/Noveske, you have to give up all logic and common sense when you offer up your asshole to get raped on the price.

What really irked me was the fact that rifle will likely never see a round through it.
I'll give a cupcake to the first person that can find a statement of someone in the field testifying that the super fucking special ACOG-Red dot-Night scope-flashlight-foregrip-griptape-more rails than could be possibly used AR- actually did something beside add unnecessary weight, bulk and cost to a perfectly good rifle.
I'm no "operator" or anything, but I'd like to think that simplicity accounts for something.
I mean fuck, an beat-to shit AK with broken ass iron sights is just as lethal for 99% of the people using it as a AR with 4 grand in optics. Hell, a 10 year old kid in Sudan with an AK is probably more lethal than most of the people on that site.

Sturgell 03-30-2008, 05:19 PM Ehh I didn't get band, they did lock that bitch up tight though huh. And the guy that i was calling out for being a moron thought finding out I am in college was intimidating I guess.
cdub0451 03-30-2008, 11:13 PM I'm no "operator" or anything, but I'd like to think that simplicity accounts for something.
I mean fuck, an beat-to shit AK with broken ass iron sights is just as lethal for 99% of the people using it as a AR with 4 grand in optics. Hell, a 10 year old kid in Sudan with an AK is probably more lethal than most of the people on that site.
First off, let me explain this is not a toot my own horn post. With that being said I have been in a few Force Recon platoons. I am not a school trained 0321 (Recon Marine) but I have enough ojt experience, all of my fitness reports say my billet (acting job) is 0321.
We have access to a lot of really cool stuff but most of us don't use it because it is too fragile and it weighs too much. I'm willing to bet if those fuckers on the other gun sites had to do a 10k movement to do a raid they wouldnt have half that shit on their weapons. I'm thinking the assclown that was talking about hitting his rifle across a tree and his life depending on it's durability is probably some admin tard anyways. You won't find too many real operators on sites like that because we get enough of that shit at work, the last thing we want to do is prove to some fatass behind a computer that some LaRue mounts are better than so and so's. (For the record we don't use any LaRue shit. We use Badger Ordinance. You want to see some expensive stuff, check their mounts out and we sure as hell ain't putting it on a fucking M4. It goes on our sniper rifles.) As for our M4's, we have a Surefire weapon light grip thing (I don't know the nomenclature for it, I just use the damn thing) a PEQ-2 infared laser, a backup sight and our choice of an ACOG, EOTech or an Aimpoint. I prefer the EOTech. All that other shit is unnecessary. We also have our NVG mounted to our helmet. I will say the stuff we use is pretty durable, but then again I didn't test it properly by hitting it against a tree.
Numidian 04-11-2008, 04:47 AM Ugh....the Larue Koolaid is following me to my local board! A guy bought a mount from them and is all excited because they sent him a bottle opener, two stickers and a hat... WTF! YOU PAID FOR ALL THAT SHIT DUMBASS, WHEN YOU PAID THEIR RETARDED FUCKING PRICES!!!!
You remove the space and go to the link.... I don't want them finding out about my safe place LOL

I'm glad I didn't register there. Those stupid fucks will probably answer every question with a link to arfcom. Fucking idiot.s :shaking:

They're actually not tooooo bad... This is one of the few threads to really set me off... They're definitely not at all Pirate...but they're not ARFCOM either...
Numidian 04-11-2008, 08:51 AM Oh and I was looking at Larue's website for at different mounts... And at the bottom of the page they have this wonder...
Is this an April Fool's they forgot to take down? This has got to be one of the most assbackwards hideous pieces of shit I've ever seen.

TheRedHorseman 04-11-2008, 08:53 AM No, it's correct. That night vision optic is meant to go in front of the scope, and the PEQ-2 on top just makes it easier to aim with the frikkin lazor goodness that it imparts.

No they actually make that shit-for-mount.:shaking:
misterfubar 04-11-2008, 08:54 AM It needs a bottle opener.
planefixer 04-11-2008, 09:09 AM ARFCOM is the Jeeps Unlimited of gun forums.
4in100 04-11-2008, 10:08 AM It needs a bottle opener.
You get one with purchase it's a BUBO. It also has instructions for how to aleviate the redness and swelling from the ass raping.

Yup. I'd rock the ever living shit out of that gun if I could. I'd replace the LaRue mount with an ADM mount out of spite though. :D:laughing:
EDIT: So I noticed I have two anti LT/ARFCOM threads over 50 replies each...am I a bigger hater than TRH or am I just logical? Or are these two not mutually exclusive?

Not from you or anyone else for that matter, and only with a chick if she's willing or needs to be ass fucked.

The use of logic leads to the hatred, embrace it.
Numidian 04-13-2008, 03:32 PM I'm too tired to comment(just got back from wheeling all weekend), just thought I'd share LOL
Larue IS king on customer service.
To make a long story short - I ordered something from larue valued at $350. They were behind production wise, because 1 of the lathes went tits up so I was told it would be a week. After 4 weeks, i called up asked to check on my order. I gave Austin my name - "Hold on a minute". 5 minutes later he comes back and says - "I don't have any excuses, we dropped the ball, the item you want is still unavailable. What do you want?" I said "well, I'd like an Aimpoint comp M3 in a cantilever mount". Austin says "done. You'll have it tomorrow". So i get $620 worth of Aimpoint PLUS a wheelbarrow full of swag (sorry Jeep) for $350. AND i get it next day.
I know Numidian will say that he can take a loss like this because he overcharges everyone. I too believed that shit when I was a wet behind the balls immediately post teen.
Bottom line is - I'll go larue every time I have a requirement that they can fulfill. Nice people and good stuff - YOU CAN"T GO WRONG THERE. :party29:
Schmozilla 04-13-2008, 03:39 PM http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/catalog/STOMP.jpg[/QUOTE]
Id rock it...if you hit it against a tree REALLY hard, the optics break free and you can use the BUOCIPICTBUISF(Back Up Optics Carried In Pocket In Case The Back Up Iron Sights Fail) That every good tacticool operator should carry.:flipoff2:
misterfubar 04-13-2008, 03:40 PM So does every paid membership to Arfcom come with a set of this Larue guy's balls to put on your chin?
Where do I sign up? :shaking:

so..."customer service" is fucking up your order, making excuses why its not ready and then sending you shit you did not order but justify it by it costing more but you not paying that price.....and still not getting what you ordered ?
:confused::laughing:

:confused::laughing:
This is no place for logic. :flipoff2: If LaRue was kind of CS, he wouldn't tell people on ARFCOM that support ADM to go fuck themselves. That ADM thread over there shows how scared he is of another person capable of running a CNC machine.

Apparently customer service equates to a free raffle ticket for an Aimpoint...but if you win you have a month and a half delay in getting the stuff...

I'd hit it up against a brick wall, because I'm a super tactical urban ninja.

You are a poser if you use bricks instead of reinforced concrete Mr. "Urban Ninja". Everyone knows that reinforced concrete is harder and more durable than baked bricks.
Numidian
Putting a break in a URL is common to keep and board from tracing hit to another. Usuually on arf it's done when linking to polls. Of course most of the idiots probably have no clue why they do it, it's just the way they did it when they showed up.
misterfubar 04-15-2008, 07:22 PM Does anyone know if Larue plans on making a Fleshlight mount? I would think that would be an extemely popular option for deploying soldiers.
Anyone with some photoshop skills?
Weasel 04-15-2008, 08:08 PM that little web of metal is not going to add any strength unless you are putting a screwdriver under the front of the sight and prying up, provided the mount doesn't pop first. With a single mount like that I'd say it's doing nothing.
Is their fancy mount cast or forged even? Looks cast.

:lmao: :lmao: ML is a fucking choad licking assbag...If he started ripping people off, he'd be worse than Daniel at USA6x6.
BigGreenMonster 06-27-2008, 09:28 PM what is that fuckbag 9 years old? if he runs his bizz like that i do not see how he is still around. i would not buy shit from him if it came with free $100 bills. fuck that tard :shaking:

He thinks he's the only person in the world who can program a CNC machine. I'm glad to see ADM around to compete with him, but their shit is way overpriced too, since ML has inflated the hell out of the market. I try to buy from YHM when I can, they are one of the only accessory makers who seem to keep their prices close to realistic. If you want to see ML really lose his mind, ask him about the chinese clones of his products.
usmcdoc14 06-28-2008, 06:37 AM He thinks he's the only person in the world who can program a CNC machine.
you noticed that too  Once that shit is programmed you just start pumping them out and keep the price high enough to make good cash but low enough to piss off the competitors. His logic is "I will charge a lot because my shit is that good":shaking:
oh and EVERYBODY is a copy of his shit
Ah Pook 06-28-2008, 11:38 AM Holy fuck. Larue is a cunt. The members over there are some of the most tacti-cool, engineering term dropping mother fawkers i've ever seen.
This may be the most fully superior waste of money I've ever seen.

Not one optic, not two optics, but three optics on one gun. And a flashlight
That gave me a tactical chubby.

BigGreenMonster 12-11-2008, 10:20 PM what brought this back up... that long rifle makes me laugh... and you would think all that junk would be on a real ar... a colt of course
Schmozilla 12-11-2008, 10:20 PM :bump:
Why?
Unka-Boo 12-11-2008, 10:43 PM Meh......arfcom has gone so commercial it's beyond pathetic. At one time it was an OK place, now....pfffft...
That, and they gutted our HTF....myself and 20 others got the boot the last week of October....because we "dared question their authority" :flipoff2: them, minus the smiley
it's just like JU.
stick to the classifieds and get the tech here
Unka-Boo 12-11-2008, 11:28 PM Even their classifieds are going to hell....you see the "auction" version they have now?
gonefishing 12-12-2008, 11:22 AM Are there any other good sites for someone that is just starting out with ARs? Or even guns in general? I feel like an idiot for asking questions sometimes but I don't always find what i'm looking for when I search here and I want to learn.
I joined glocktalk but it seems pretty lame too. :(

Someone here will either know the answer, or wade through whatever bullshit it takes to find one for ya.
