: Battery disconnect
Ultim8kaos 07-12-2002, 05:56 PM Posted this here because this is where the original post appeared about the switches.
Did you pay for the shipping on your battery disconnect switch???
I did a little experiment in human nature with these switches. I sent out 14 of them to various members who requested them. I only asked for $4.00 to cover shipping, pakaging, etc. I sent these before receiving any funds to see who of you, if any, paid up. ONLY 6  POR-BB members were honest enough to actually send any money. Less than 50% of you actually possess a decent level of probity!!!! I know who the ones are who paid and so do they. To them THANKS and
WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF YOU:question:
welndmn 07-15-2002, 10:32 AM I paid :D, got it the other day too.
before i kill 1/2 hour playing with it, do you know witch pin does what on that funky small ass 3 wire connector
madmarx 07-15-2002, 10:44 AM I paid too, got a copy of the MO right here, Thanks Ultim8. Oh yea, what he said about the pinout on the wires...:D
Welby 07-15-2002, 10:46 AM I know this is gonna sound like a line of BS, but no, I haven't forgotten about you. I still have mine in the packaging at home, sitting on my keyboard so I wouldn't forget. I know that if you sent out alot of them, the costs will add up, so rest assured, you'll be getting my $4. I just have a bad habit of procrastinating....
Ultim8kaos 07-15-2002, 11:01 AM Guys,
just cut off the three pin connector (only 2 pins used) and wire the 2 pins to a micro toggle switch (hidden) or to a keyed switch. The large terminals hook in series to what you want to disconnect. I would not put it in line with the starter because I don't think it will handle the current draw, however, wire it in between the B+ terminal and the ignition switch so it will shut down everything on the ign switch.
When the 2 small wires (I think one is red and the other is blue) are connected to each other the switch will be closed (current will flow) and when they are unconnected the switch is open (NO continuity through switch).
Later,

ARokCrwlr 07-15-2002, 12:09 PM Do you have any left? If I send you shipping first will you send me one ? :D Let me know where and the check's in the mail.
Nickm 07-17-2002, 01:26 AM I am in line if ya get any more. Ill even pay for one of the dead beats that didnt. Ill bet you get the money befor you can ship it.
Lloyd 07-17-2002, 06:25 AM I thought that was remarkably fast turn-around, but then mail from Northern NM to CO and back should be fast. It's now obvious that unusually good service from USPS wasn't the only factor at work here. ;) THANK YOU for the switch! :D
nightcrawler 07-17-2002, 06:48 AM Im guilty of procrastinating but........
I was just diagnosed with severe case of Procrastinationitis and was advised by my Doktor to consume (3) ice-cold beer for immediate recovery. I'm on my second can of beer and chuggin' the third anytime now. Also I'm having physical check-up in the nearest P.O. @ 2pm today and the check-up fee is $4. :D
Thanks for the friendly reminder and $$ is on its way.
ItsaCJ6 07-17-2002, 09:31 AM Ya I paid ... And when the switch showed up I went, (WTF is that?)

Ultim8kaos 07-17-2002, 01:54 PM Guys,
Thanks for steppin up. I didn't think over 50% of the PBB members could be deadbeats! :D Owned a business several years ago that required handin out product before collecting (Snap-on Tools) and found out just how pathetic about 50% of the population is! :flipoff2:
Sorry, but no more to be had. I had to dig up the ones I did send out. (under benches, on tool carts, in the garbage, etc.)
LordRatner 07-17-2002, 04:17 PM I sent it! but, if one of you guys finds a good way to hook it to a TJ or YJ, please do tell.
HeyBeerMan 07-17-2002, 04:30 PM FREE battery disconects!!!
