This project is killing me. I am so tired of coming home every day covered from head to toe in grease and dirt and tomorrow I am going to clean the rockwells up. ugh!!! The only thing keeping me going in the 100+ degree heat is the promiss of moab in august which will only happen if Avalanche will get me that tank damnit!!!:flipoff2: I am afraid I might be a little spoiled by Daniels customer service now. to you Daniel!!! Hope everyone enjoys the pics!!! Have a great friday night everyone!!!!:)

yep that sounds about right. Not bad when you consider that a 60 from dynatrac is 6000 dollars.

All I can say is I am glad you got the disc brakes and not the drums cuz you would have been by yourself putting those on the jackstands.

Lets see the at the wheel disk brakes. Did I read that right, that they are going to work with the hubs flipped IN???

I wanna see some pics, this is really my only problem on the Rockwell issue for me.

Cum Awn, show us some pics:D

Brakes are SWEET daniel:smokin:

Did I read that price right .kke 1300 bucks all the way around?

Got two different posts, one saying the hubs will be flipped in (if this is true, will the wheel disk brakes still work?) and another one saying the brakes will only work hubs flipped out.

Wow, this is getting good, finally some aftermarket support for the Rockwells.

On another note, my moms 2000 Ford F 550 4x4 has a Rockwell 2.5 ton rear, and it has 4.88 gears, also in one of the recent (less than a year old) 4x4 rags, there is a guy with a big black Ford F650 that he converted to 4x4 and it has Rockwell 2.5 tons front and rear with 4.88 gears.

How come the military 2.5 ton Rockwells cant have their gear ratios changed? Is it cause they are top loaders and the reduction comes from there?

Thanks

550s have a dana 135 rearend. And the 2.5 tons in that f650 were GM 2.5 tons. They werent made by rockwell either!

damn jeeper, when are you going to give up on that pile of crap!! I wonder how long these axles will stay under there before something else goes in...??

Badassjeepguy, the 6000 dynatrac price is for a front end for a TJ with chro-mo, ARB, 4.88's, CTM's, and all TJ brackets already done. The TJ brackets and CTM's add a hefty fee to the normal D60 price, but i think that a 60 would need chro-mo and CTM's to be comparable to a normal Rockwell.

Now, if someone would just make some chro-mo shafts for rockwells, that would be the ultimate...
