Ok, we started off the day with some of the baddest wheelin' ever... We nearly aced obstacle A1 which killed everyone. Nobody but us was able to escape this obstacle without hitting a flag. It was a GREAT start to a torturously blistering HOT day. Then our luck quickly changed for the worse, and on ostacle two we got the front end wedged into a crack. I didn't notice the extent of the bindage, and POW, front axle. 5 seconds later trying to get the vehicle out in 3 wheel drive, POW, there goes a REAR axle!
Needless to say, we didn't finish that obstacle. Our awesome "pit crew" went to work and had the vehicle repaired completely in less than 15 minutes! Shane and Ozzy ROCK!
Trying not to let our 40 point breakage affect the rest of our day, we fully got it the rest of the day, and finished the day with 46 points.
Here's how the point standings look after day one on course A:
1st: Ken Shupe - 26 points
2nd: Mike Shaffer - 46 points
3rd: Curt Hildebrand - 75 points
4th: Walker Evans - 83 points
4th: Jason Paule - 83 points
There was TONS of carnage today. One of the roughest courses ever. The horribly hot weather made it almost unbearable for us spotters.
