Hey all here's somthing to sit on for the weekend

....while i head to ocracoke island ...:flipoff2:

While speeking with a fellow PBB member last week (thanks for the  ) we discussed some options for the raleigh area. Personally im all club'd out and don't want to join another local club w/ dues and rules etc.... I'm in a great wheeling club but they are 3-4hrs away and dont have mailing lists or regular contact short of monthly runs.

As it stands I don't have a quick way to communicate with PBB type people in my area short of clogging up this board with hot dogs and hamburger stuff....

I'm thinking of starting up a mailing list (ya another one) for area wheelers to shout out as needed, not a substitute for this board but for junk yard runs etc... stuff like that. I miss alot of stuff on the board due to the volume and my time on line (not very much some weeks).

I'd foot the bill for the list, it would be a private majordomo type no banners (that i know of) etc....

Anyone interested ? PM me or whatever Maybe i had to much beer when I thunk this up....

I just did the same thing for Houston Zuks. I'm thinking maybe I should broaden it....

Anyway, do it on topica. It's free and seems to work well.

Sounds like a great idea. I have alot of stuff to sell and trade that is too much trouble to ship. Being able to trade locally would be a huge help. Plus you could organize trips and the like. I think there are some message boards out there that are like $5 a month to host.

Mike, sounds like a good idea! We dont' really need a "board" so to speak..a mailing list sounds ideal.

I was wondering where the PSD beast was this morning.. I took your normal parking spot...thanks!:flipoff2:

Hey...wanna do the crossville (canyon) run in august? I'd pay gas, I'm pretty sure it's camping, and I know of an open seat.. (the S/O wants to go with me, not sure if she can though)

Let me know if you get something together. I live in Greenville but I may be moving to raliegh soon. Only problem is my rig is still in construction phase. It will run one day though.

I'm in Fuquay-Varina (Raleigh area), sounds good to me. I can also do the mail list no prob on the Bronco.com server. It's a majordomo server and now fully backed up. Simple to create a new list. Just let me know what you want to call it.

There is actually a few of us in the area who would be interested. We already have an east coast bronco list called EBeast (Early Broncos of the east coast) going for most of the folks in NC, SC, VA, PA, DC, and some in GA and AL.

Just let me know.

hey all sounds like there's enough interest so ill get this going.

Im still on island time and my head still fuzzy but ill get this going sometime this week and post back the sub up info...

Like I said before this isnt to replace any existing club lists or groups etc. Mainly to provide a way locals can bs reguardles of club, brand, sell junk etc... THis list will NOT be a club list, no dues, meetings (unless they involve  ) etc..

ESKIMO hmmmm well see about the trip you still need to measure your track width to see if your junks gonna fit on my trailer.... I had a "bad" trailering experience with a "friend" that resulted in some hurt feelings and i wont be put out for dragging someones a$$ 5 hours.. split gas AND get stuck with a food bill...... As usual i take it up the wazooo....

Plus puke is mid streem in getting new frame rails :flipoff2:

Oh, forgot to tell ya, but I did measure it... 75" lug to lug.

It's kind of a non-issue right now with the picture below, happened last night. $$ is gonna keep me from fixing it and having the cash for the trip. Yeah, I'm that broke... :(

I'd like to hear that story about the trip... I did say, though, that I would pay all the gas. That's fair enough...

SHANNON - I'm right up the road from ya... Holly Springs, off Avent Ferry Rd.. Opinions of the Steve Ashworth Performance store? Seems like a decent place, at least the guys there know a muffler from a muffler bearing! (Unlike the 2 stores right next door!)

I've had good luck with Steve Asheworth performance so far. According to most of the locals, they are the bomb for motor building. They also have a dyno there and have lots of late-model stock cars in there all the time.

I live right off Sunset Lake and Hilltop-Needmore.

Oh wow.. I didn't know they had all that back there! sweet. I was just impressed with the guy when I walked in there the first time, and the lack of ricers in the parking lot... :D

I have been wanting to get my little daily driver dyno'd for quite a while... hmmmm..

We should hook up and knock back a few  's sometime...

Who knew that Fuquay would be a hotbed of PBB activity? Who knew Ashworths had a Dyno? Not me!

I live just south of town off of Wagstaff. Count me in on a mailing list or the like. I'd live to get to know other offroaders in the area.

The jeep is my DD and needs to evolve a little before I do too much more off roading but that won't stop me from having a beer or three. :D

Where is this Ashworths place? How much does it cost to run on the dyno?

Shannon

STEVE ASHWORTH PERFORMANCE (919) 552-9615
1280 N MAIN ST
FUQUAY VARINA , NC 27526

It's right on 401 in Fuquay, just past Bojangles/KFC toward old town Fuquay.

Don't know on the cost for the dyno. I never asked.

Newbie here. Live over in Hickory. Set me up on the mailing list if you can. jeff@cmfurniture.com Got a 94 EB Bronco. Still stock for now but if anyone knows of a Front 44 or 60 send me a message. Also if anyone needs painting or body work, my family owns a shop. Corely Bodyworks. Mainly restore classics and build street rods but also fix wrecks and clips. Fully PPG certified spray booth. Zukipie - I live in holly springs, and currently am part of a toyota tacoma club that is...well...on the downswing in my book.

I dont feel the need to make a new club/join some more, but what you are doing is a great idea.

I would love to get out there with some locals and to be honest, I havent had the best of luck bumping in to the kindest, smartest wheelers on local trails ;)

I have lost about all interest in the tacoma club due to lack of participation and my other club (ctb) makes runs that are always far away

Im game, and will be adding myself to the list :) see ya out there.

Mike

I should have read the board last night. Glad the list is up. I created a new list last night for this. NChardcore@bronco.com. I'll just leave it. If we have problems with the maillists group we can move everyone over and it is free, runs on majordomo, no banners, etc. I own the server, so no worries about content.

Great info about body shop. I did some serious damage in Paragon a few weeks ago. That was my last (mostly) straight piece of sheetmetal on the Bronco.

First topic for the Raleigh mail list, who has a welder? I need to tack a few things....

Yag-- Looks good.. I'll be sub'ing when i get home.. I do LOVE the by-laws. By the way.. what's the low down on thenew frame rails?

I can vouch for Godzilla.. He does have a disregard for body damage that you wouldn't expect on a D/D, 2000 model truck.. He just GETS that body damage at the dumbest times, don'tcha Mikey...

I guess the will keep a certain RE long-arm TJ having boy off the list, eh? (He won't get under his own TJ to put the t-case into 4wd when the shifter doesn't work):flipoff:
