I have a 85 Toyota Truck: It currently has a fresh rebuilt 22R, .030 domed pistons, TRD cam, ported head, Downey Cermaic header and exhaust. I have a 3 " body lift, Rancho 5000 shocks, and I have 31" Dunlop Rovers on Rockcrawler rims. I have a Ramsey 8000# winch and two PIAA 9" lights on a Tube bumper upfront.
My question is I would like to build this truck into a more capable trail rig yet retain its drivability. Any advise on what components I should add, gearing ( I would like to go to 33" tires), What lockers to run (i'm thinking a Detroit in the rear and maybe an ARB up front...?), Suspension lift...? My goal is to make a Go-Anywhere rig. A vehicle that I can drive 1000 miles and then hit the trails. Oh and by-the-way I am new here so easy on the flaming.........and :flipoff2: ....I just coundn't wait to post my first one.
